Resumo
O câncer gastrointestinal é uma neoplasia maligna. Este pode surgir em qualquer área do trato gastrointestinal e se desenvolve nas paredes dos órgãos junto às camadas musculares tornando-se um problema sério de saúde. Dados estatísticos mostram que essa patologia se classifica como sendo a segunda principal causa de morte no mundo. A saber, a nível global, um a cada seis óbitos pode estar relacionado à doença. Assim, para melhor controle da doença, faz-se necessária uma equipe multidisciplinar no trato dessa patologia, auxiliando em todo o processo de tratamento. O objetivo deste artigo é conhecer a produção acadêmica publicada no recorte temporal delimitado para o estudo. A metodologia consistiu em um levantamento bibliográfico identificado através das bases de dados oficiais: SciELO, Pubmed, BVS, Sciencedirec, utilizando-se os artigos que continham data dos últimos dez anos. Os resultados encontrados mostram que muitos dos artigos selecionados falam sobre os tipos de câncer, macronutrientes e dietas em geral, porém não adentram na discussão da atuação do nutricionista como ideia central das discussões utilizadas pelos autores. Isso talvez denote a centralidade na patologia e/ou tratamento, evidenciando a forma superficial dessa atuação. Poucos dos artigos trazem a discussão sobre a atuação do nutricionista de forma direta, bem como da equipe multidisciplinar no rol das discussões. Contudo, o estudo ora apresentado propiciou a compreensão de se ter um olhar mais atento ao que o nutricionista representa no tratamento oncológico, especificamente, o câncer gástrico. Evidenciando também sua contribuição nesse processo a respeito da conduta nutricional e estratégias de ação.
Gastrointestinal cancer is a malignant neoplasm. It can arise in any area of the gastrointestinal tract and develops in the walls of organs next to the muscular layers, becoming a serious health problem. Statistical data show that this pathology is classified as the second leading cause of death worldwide. Specifically, on a global scale, one in every six deaths may be related to the disease. Therefore, for better control of the pathology, a multidisciplinary team is necessary in dealing with this illness, assisting in the entire treatment process. The objective of this article is to know the academic production published within the delimited time frame for the study. The methodology consisted of a bibliographic survey of articles identified through official databases such as SciELO, Pubmed, BVS and Sciencedirect.Articles from the last ten years were included. The results show that many of the selected articles discuss types of cancer, macronutrients and diets in general. However, they do not delve into the discussion of the role of the nutritionist as the central idea used by the authors. This may indicate a focus on the pathology and/or treatment, superficially highlighting this role. Few articles directly discuss the role of the nutritionist or the multidisciplinary team in the discussions. However, the present study facilitated an understanding of the need for a closer look at the role of the nutritionist in oncological treatment - specifically, gastric cancer - also highlighting their contribution in terms of nutritional conduct and action strategies.
