The present text addresses the impact of social excesses, infinite demands, and dual workloads on individuals, particularly in the context of capitalism and material consumption. It highlights the resulting biopsychosocial consequences, focusing on Burnout Syndrome as a significant emotional disorder with symptoms of stress, primarily caused by excessive work. The connection between worker health and organizational culture and management is emphasized, including ethical parameters, hiring and firing practices, hierarchical and communication policies, and health-focused initiatives. The text underscores the societal impact of a fast-paced lifestyle and financial concerns, leading individuals to be susceptible to biopsychosocial exhaustion. Within this context, the Psychoanalytic Theory is utilized for the treatment of this syndrome, particularly among unionized nurses.
