Resumo
O leite materno é o alimento mais completo que o recém-nascido pode receber, no entanto a amamentação, embora seja um evento fisiológico, está cercada de dificuldades, tanto físicas quanto emocionais, especialmente nas primeiras semanas pós-parto. O enfermeiro tem papel essencial no desenvolvimento deste vínculo entre mãe e bebê, iniciando sua atuação desde o pré-natal e atuando especialmente durante o puerpério. O presente estudo objetivou verificar a produção científica a respeito da atuação do enfermeiro durante este período e o impacto que este teve no desempenho da amamentação exclusiva durante o período puerperal. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura nas bases de dados da Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde, Base de dados de Enfermagem e Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, acessadas por meio da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde. Foram encontrados 38 estudos e destes 7 atenderam aos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, sendo selecionados para análise. Verificou-se a importância da atuação do enfermeiro para estabelecer práticas que promovam a construção de um vínculo entre mãe e bebê, tornando-se possível iniciar de forma precoce a troca de informações e orientações para que o aleitamento materno ocorra de maneira natural e que mesmo com o surgimento de alguma dificuldade, seja possível superá-la com o apoio de uma rede fortalecida e o suporte de uma equipe preparada.
Breast milk is the most complete food that the newborn can receive, however, breastfeeding, although it is a physiological event, is surrounded by difficulties, both physical and emotional, especially in the first weeks after birth. Nurses play an essential role in the development of this bond between mother and baby, starting in the prenatal period and acting especially during the puerperium. The present study aimed to verify the scientific production regarding the nurse's role during this period and the impact it had on the performance of exclusive breastfeeding during the puerperal period. This is an integrative review of literature in the databases Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences, Nursing Database, and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, accessed through the Virtual Health Library. Thirty-eight studies were found, of which seven met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and were selected for analysis. It was verified the importance of the nurse's role to establish practices that promote the construction of a bond between mother and baby, making it possible to start early the exchange of information and guidance so that breastfeeding occurs naturally and that even with the emergence of some difficulty, it is possible to overcome it with the support of a strengthened network and the support of a prepared team.
