dc.description.abstractO AVC é uma das principais causas de doença e morte em todo o mundo, com milhões de óbitos e anos de vida afetados em 2019. Um efeito comum, porém subestimado, do AVC é a Fadiga Pós-AVC, que é uma fadiga crônica persistente. A Depressão Pós-Acidente Vascular Cerebral é uma condição comum que ocorre após um AVC, com prevalência variando de 18% a 61%, sendo mais frequente nos primeiros três meses após o evento. O objetivo deste estudo foi discutir a prevalência de fadiga e depressão em pacientes com Pós- AVC. Realizou-se uma revisão integrativa nas bases de dados MEDLINE e PubMed. Foram empregados os seguintes Descritores em Ciências da Saúde (DeCS/MeSH): (Acidente Vascular Cerebral) AND (Depressão) AND (Fadiga), (Stroke) AND (Depression) AND (Fatigue). 12 estudos foram selecionados para compor a amostra da pesquisa. Descobriu-se que fatores como índice de massa corporal, idade, gravidade do AVC e gênero estão associados à fadiga pós-AVC, com um impacto significativo na qualidade de vida e função executiva. Além disso, sintomas de depressão e ansiedade desempenham um papel importante na experiência da fadiga após o AVC, ressaltando a complexidade dessas interações. Mais pesquisas são necessárias para entender completamente os mecanismos subjacentes à fadiga e depressão pós-AVC e desenvolver intervenções eficazes para melhorar a qualidade de vida desses pacientes.pt
dc.description.abstractStroke is one of the leading causes of illness and death worldwide, with millions of deaths and years of life affected in 2019. A common but underestimated effect of stroke is Post-Stroke Fatigue, which is chronic, persistent fatigue. Post-stroke Depression is a common condition that occurs after a stroke, with a prevalence ranging from 18% to 61%, being more frequent in the first three months after the event. The objective of this study was to discuss the prevalence of fatigue and depression in post-stroke patients. An integrative review was carried out in the MEDLINE and PubMed databases. The following Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS/MeSH) were used: (Cerebral Vascular Accident) AND (Depression) AND (Fatigue), (Stroke) AND (Depression) AND (Fatigue). 12 studies were selected to compose the research sample. Factors such as body mass index, age, stroke severity and gender have been found to be associated with post-stroke fatigue, with a significant impact on quality of life and executive function. Furthermore, symptoms of depression and anxiety play an important role in the experience of fatigue after stroke, highlighting the complexity of these interactions. More research is needed to fully understand the mechanisms underlying post-stroke fatigue and depression and to develop effective interventions to improve quality of life for these patientsen
