treinamento.
Introduction: CVA (Cerebral Vascular Accident) can be caused by 2 different mechanisms, by an occlusion or by a hemorrhage. It is considered a chronic disease that can lead to some functional impairments, mobility restriction and consequently leading to impairments in the performance of ADL'S in their environment Objective: This work aims, through a review study, to evaluate the effects of the use of a cane, in gait and balance in individuals after stroke. Methodology: A qualitative search of review studies was carried out in the main databases such as: Pubmed, PEDro and SciELO from March 2023 to June 2023. as inclusion criteria, studies dating from the period 2010-2022, which were related to the use of a cane, gait and balance and in people with chronic stroke. Results: The sample for this review consisted of 18 scientific articles, 7 of which were selected according to previously established inclusion criteria. Conclusion: The use of a cane-type gait device favors the increase in gait speed and balance of individuals after chronic stroke, contributing to the improvement of their quality of life, regardless of the training method.
