This article aims to investigate, without intending to exhaust the subject, the economic inequality in the State of São Paulo, in the period from 2010 to 2020. In the literature, Maia states that Social Policies intervene of the State in existing social issues, to compensate as distortions resulting from the capitalist development process, which discriminates and makes the distance between rich and poor increasingly smaller. In view of the analysis carried out, it should be noted that even in view of the economic and population representation of São Paulo in the national context, the State has a large income disparity between the inhabitants and social programs somehow contribute to this reduced distance, bringing income and a minimum of social dignity to the paulistas.
