Body weight supported treadmill training (BWSTT) has gained greater visibility in stroke rehabilitation. Objective: The aim of this study is to describe from the literature the effects of locomotor training with partial weight support in patients in the subacute phase after stroke. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review using the following descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS): "Stroke", "Rehabilitation" and "Gait". "Gait" and using the Boolean operators "AND" and "OR". Results and discussions: After adopting the inclusion criteria, 326 articles were found in the databases, literature reviews and duplicate articles were excluded, totaling 321 excluded articles. After applying the exclusion criteria, five studies were selected, all of which were randomized clinical trials. Conclusion: Given the results obtained, it is possible to conclude that gait training with partial body weight support promotes a greater sense of security, and early training is of paramount importance to facilitate the recovery of neuroplasticity.
