Resumo
Inicialmente, o luto pode ser entendido como um processo socialmente
naturalizado que se faz necessário à saúde psicológica do indivíduo que vivência a perda de um
ente querido ou até mesmo de um paciente no âmbito emergencial hospitalar. Nesse contexto,
a morte é um fenômeno que desencadeia os mais variados sentimentos como raiva, dor e
sensação de perda que precisam ser trabalhados em profissionais da saúde visando à preparação
e acolhimento possibilitando o manejo de suas emoções diante deste fenômeno. O objetivo
deste artigo é compreender, através de uma revisão bibliográfica a vivência do luto em médicos
que atuam em emergências hospitalares. Através de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, qualitativa,
baseada em dados colhidos das bases Scielo e Portal de periódicos da CAPES, com informações
de revistas, livros, monografias, dissertações de mestrado, teses de doutorado e artigos
científicos publicados entre os anos de 1915 a 2019. Dentre as contribuições do referencial,
enfatizou-se o processo histórico do luto e seus estágios; os desafios e perspectivas dos serviços
emergenciais hospitalares no Brasil e os principais sentimentos expressados por médicos ao
lidar com a morte. Como conclusão, entendem- se que os serviços emergenciais enfrentam
desafios frente as suas perspectivas e que muitos médicos, treinados para cuidar da vida, não se
sentem preparados para cuidar da morte.
Initially, grief can be understood as a socially naturalized process that is necessary for the psychological health of the individual who experiences the loss of a loved one or even a patient in the hospital emergency room. In this context, death is a phenomenon that triggers the most varied feelings such as anger, pain, and feeling of loss that need to be worked on by health professionals aiming at preparing and welcoming them, enabling the management of their emotions when facing this phenomenon. The objective of this article is to understand, through a bibliographic review, the experience of mourning in physicians who work in hospital emergencies. Through a qualitative bibliographic research, based on data collected from Scielo, and Portal de periódicos da CAPES, with information from journals, books, monographs, master's dissertations, doctoral theses and scientific articles published between 1915 and 2019. Among the contributions of the referential, it was emphasized the historical process of grief and its stages; the challenges and perspectives of hospital emergency services in Brazil and the main feelings expressed by physicians when dealing with death. As a conclusion, it is understood that emergency services face challenges facing their perspectives and that many physicians, trained to care for life, do not feel prepared to care for death.
