promove a paralisação do músculo.
envelhecimento cutâneo facial obteve benefício clínico no aspecto visual e
Introduction: The process called aging is natural. It occurs due to both extrinsic and intrinsic factors. Over time and facial expressions, the face acquires lines, which come from muscle contractions. Botulinum toxin type A is a safe and effective treatment that brings satisfactory results in the area of aesthetics. This toxin is produced by a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum, whose application at pre-determined points causes muscle paralysis. This technique has the ability to soften and prevent these facial fine lines, especially when located in the upper third of the face. Objective: This study aims to verify, through an integrative literature review, the effects of botulinum toxin type A as a means of preventing facial skin aging. Results: It was conducted the analysis of five studies with sample sizes ranging from 5 to 300 patients, female and male, aged between 18 and 73 years. The application of the Botulinum Toxin type A technique in the prevention of facial skin aging obtained clinical benefits in the visual and histological aspect associated or not with another technique, as well as being safe and effective. Conclusion: According to the authors, Botulinum Toxin type A is a treatment that provides satisfactory results in the treated area, in terms of wrinkles and skin quality, thus, it is possible to obtain an improvement in facial harmony.
