Resumo
O Trabalho refere-se aos problemas ocasionados por recalques diferenciais ocorridos
nos prédios da Orla Santista. Desenvolvido através de um estudo bibliográfico sobre
suas causas pode-se identificar os motivos que levaram a desaprumos tão
alarmantes, sendo que, em alguns prédios, a inclinação foi de 2.2º e 120 centímetros
de inclinação, trazendo vários prejuízos aos moradores. Os prédios foram construídos
em 1940 e a partir de 1950 já se tinha o conhecimento que estes poderiam sofrer
recalques nas fundações. Os principais aspectos geotécnicos que contribuíram para
estas patologias foram: as oscilações negativas do nível do mar, ação de dunas de
areia e o envelhecimento das argilas marinhas e bulbo de tensões. Como aspectos
construtivos, destaca-se que naquela época haviam limitações para execução de
fundações profundas e mais tarde, quando haviam recursos para execução de tais
fundações, os empresários da época julgaram financeiramente inviável, sendo então,
executado fundações rasas acreditando que, naquela localidade, havia apenas areia
compactada no solo e sem levar em consideração a grande camada de argila marinha
que havia em baixo, solo este, considerado o pior para construção civil. Após anos de
estudo sobre como resolver os problemas de recalques diferenciais deu-se início a
uma das maiores obras de engenharia: o reaprumo do bloco B do Edifício Nuncio
Manzoni, porém, hoje em dia, ainda existem prédios que não foram reaprumados
devido ao custo elevado de tal intervenção.
The Work refers to the problems caused by differential settlements that occurred in the buildings of Orla Santista. Developed through a bibliographical study on its causes, it is possible to identify the reasons that led to such alarming deviations, and, in some buildings, the inclination was 2.2º and 120 centimeters of inclination, causing several damages to the residents. The buildings were built in 1940 and from 1950 it was already known that they could suffer repression in the foundations. The main geotechnical aspects that contributed to these pathologies were: negative sea level oscillations, action of sand dunes and the aging of marine clays and stress bulbs. As constructive aspects, it is highlighted that at that time there were limitations for the execution of deep foundations and later, when there were resources for the execution of such foundations, the entrepreneurs of the time judged it financially unfeasible, being then executed shallow foundations believing that, in that locality, there was only compacted sand on the ground and without taking into account the large layer of marine clay that was below, this soil, considered the worst for civil construction. After years of studying how to solve the problems of differential settlements, one of the greatest engineering works began: the rearrangement of block B of the Nuncio Manzoni Building, however, today, there are still buildings that have not been rearranged due to the cost high of such an intervention.
