paterna no pré-natal.
Objective: To analyze, in the national literature, paternal participation during prenatal care. Method: Integrative review carried out from the Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) databases; Nursing Databases (BDENF); and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), using the descriptors: paternity; pregnancy; and prenatal care. The sample consists of eight national articles. Results: From the analysis of the studies, the discussion was conducted on three themes: inclusion of the father in prenatal care; partner's prenatal care; and emotional support to the father during pregnancy. Final considerations: There is little knowledge of parents about prenatal care, about the right to accompany the pregnant woman to consultations and the performance of preventive exams on that occasion. It is recommended that health professionals expand their knowledge on this topic, and it is suggested that more updates be provided to the care practice so that they contribute to greater paternal participation in prenatal care.
