Introduction: Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH) is considered a disease where high and permanent levels of blood pressure (BP) alter the function and structure of major organs, such as the heart, kidneys, blood vessels and brain. Therefore, the Brazilian Guidelines on Hypertension VI (DBH VI) consider people with SAH, with BP equal to or greater than 140 x 90 mm Hg. One of the important health problems and considered one of the most prevalent risk factors among cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Objective: This study aims to review and understand the effects of physiotherapy in the control of hypertension in women through the Pilates Method (PM). Methodology: To carry out this research, the VHL, PubMed, PEDro and Scielo databases were used, in which articles corresponding to the theme were selected, without applying the time filter. Results: The study had a total of 48 articles found, of which four articles were selected. Afterwards, they went through the selection stages with reading the titles, reading the abstracts, and reading the studies in full. Conclusion: The practice of physical exercise through PM, which address flexibility, muscle strength, vital strength capacity, fat percentage, body mass and quality of life, show good results in reducing BP in hypertensive women who have pressure values above their normal range.
