Resumo
Introdução: Na infância, a alimentação contribui no crescimento e desenvolvimento, onde os pais e profissionais de saúde apresentam papel importante no auxílio da alimentação e manutenção da saúde. Objetivo: Verificar os conhecimentos sobre aleitamento materno e alimentação complementar dos profissionais de saúde que atuam nas Unidades Básicas de Saúde de Águas Mornas-SC. Metodologia: Análise quantitativa e transversal, aplicada através de um questionário. Os dados foram inseridos no programa Excel, e posteriormente associados as variáveis independentes utilizando a Prova Exata de Fisher através do programa Stata 13.0. Resultados: Após analisar, constatou-se que 95,6% dos participantes eram mulheres. Nos conhecimentos sobre aleitamento materno e alimentação complementar, mais de 80% e 65% dos participantes, respectivamente, apresentaram conhecimentos sobre esses assuntos, de acordo com o que o Ministério da Saúde preconiza. Conclusão: Os profissionais possuem conhecimentos adequados sobre aleitamento materno e alimentação complementar a fim de orientar as mães mediantes aos conhecimentos dos mesmos.
Introduction: In childhood, food contributes to growth and development, where parents and health professionals play an important role in helping food and maintaining health. Objective: To verify the knowledge about breastfeeding and complementary feeding of health professionals working in Basic Health Units in Águas Mornas-SC. Methodology: Quantitative and transversal analysis, applied through a questionnaire. Data were entered into the Excel program, and later associated with the independent variables using Fisher's Exact Proof using the Stata 13.0 program. Results: After the analysis, it was found that 95.6% of the participants were women. In terms of knowledge about breastfeeding and complementary feeding, 80% and 65% of the participants, respectively, had knowledge about these issues, in accordance with what the Ministry of Health recommends. Conclusion: Professionals have adequate knowledge about breastfeeding and complementary feeding in order to guide mothers through their knowledge.
