| dc.description.abstract | Introduction: The use of tobacco causes many problems in the body of its user. Manual lymphatic drainage (DLM) is a technique that exerts varying effects on the body, with its main action on the lymphatic system. It drains the excess liquids that bath the cells, thus maintaining the water balance of the interstitial spaces. The present research is an explanatory, qualitative-quantitative approach and experimental procedure, aiming to analyze the effects of facial lymphatic drainage in smokers. Methodology: The sample consisted of 12 volunteers who met the inclusion criteria: volunteers of both sexes, aged between 30 and 60 years, smokers, who presented an aging scale of type II to IV according to the classification of aging of Glogau. Results: In the hydration analysis there was no significant difference between before and after in the mean of the volunteers; however, eight (58.3%) volunteers presented a significant increase in hydration and three (25%) volunteers had a reduction in hydration. In the analysis of elasticity, it is possible to observe the statistical difference between the means compared before and after the intervention in most of the volunteers (91.6%). | dc.description.abstract | Introdução: O uso do tabaco provoca muitos problemas no organismo de seu usuário. A drenagem linfática manual (DLM) é uma técnica que exerce efeitos variados sobre o organismo, com sua ação principal sobre o sistema linfático. A mesma drena os líquidos excedentes que banham as células, mantendo assim, o equilíbrio hídrico dos espaços intersticiais. A presente pesquisa é do tipo explicativa, de abordagem quali-quantitativa e procedimento experimental, com objetivo de analisar os efeitos da drenagem linfática facial em indivíduos tabagistas. Metodologia: A amostra foi constituída por 12 voluntários que atenderam aos critérios de inclusão: voluntários de ambos os sexos, com idade entre 30 e 60 anos, tabagistas, que apresentam escala de envelhecimento do tipo II ao IV de acordo com a classificação de envelhecimento de Glogau. Resultados: Na análise de hidratação não houve diferença significativa entre antes e depois no total das médias dos voluntários, porém, oito (58,3%) voluntários apresentaram um aumento significativo da hidratação e três (25%) voluntários apresentaram uma redução da hidratação. Na análise da elasticidade, é possível observar a diferença estatística entre as médias comparadas antes e depois da intervenção na maior parte dos voluntários (91,6%). O aumento da elasticidade na média de todos os voluntários foi de 8,60%, havendo diferença estatisticamente significativa. | pt_BR |
