farmacêutico é essencial no acompanhamento farmacoterapêutico, identificando
A farmacoterapia
Cancer is a set of more than 100 diseases that have disordered cell growth in common. This disease is seen as the main cause of complications in public health in the world. The most used treatments are intravenous and oral antineoplastic chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, and palliative care. Currently, treatment depends on several factors, such as type of cancer, staging, and clinical condition of the patient, among others, even with evolution, treatment with chemotherapy still has several unpleasant and aggressive adverse effects, in addition to drug interaction, after all, the patient oncologist usually makes use of several other drugs related to cancer or other diseases. That is why the multidisciplinary team is so important in the oncology area, including the pharmaceutical professional, who is essential in pharmacotherapeutic follow-up, identifying drug-related problems (DRPs), adverse reactions, avoiding dosage errors, advising on dosage and necessary care, monitoring effectiveness therapy, thus increasing adherence and providing the patient with quality and safe treatment. Oral antineoplastic pharmacotherapy brings several advantages for the patient, after all, it is administered by the patient at home, avoiding trips to the hospital, and allowing the patient to carry out his routine activities normally, but the patient needs to be responsible for using the correct form. So this literature review describes the importance of pharmaceutical care for the cancer patient, as the oncology pharmacist is fundamental in antineoplastic pharmacotherapy and adherence to oral treatment.
