Patients with hearing loss get sick more than the general population and therefore tend to seek medical care more frequently, while deaf patients tend to seek health care less frequently due to the numerous barriers to accessibility. Such barriers discourage them from seeking help, leading to a dehumanized practice that is not sensitive to reception. The general objective of this study was to understand the importance of Libras as an interface between the deaf patient and pharmaceutical care (PA). For this, a bibliographic research was carried out and as a main result it was observed that communication is the main barrier to establishing adequate care. As a conclusion, it is concluded that the care for the deaf is challenging for both parties. In this way, it is essential that pharmacists are prepared to serve them in the best possible way, through the use of Libras as the main proposal, the use of permanent education and the encouragement of the promotion of methodologies that allow an integral and accessible service to this community as the PHARMALIBRAS.
