This work was motivated by the semiconductor crisis, better known as microchips, parts that are extremely important in the construction of modules, actuators and sensors that are part of vehicles, especially electrified ones. With the stoppage of the vehicle production chain during the crisis, it was necessary to study the impact that could be caused by compliance with the Brazilian NDC regarding emissions. The methodology regarding the means used was qualitative, seeking bibliographical sources that would support the research, specifically targeting the automotive market, in the niche of electric vehicles. At the end of the work, it was concluded that for the period until 2030, the automotive market is in deficit of sales of electric vehicles. There was a loss of sales due to COVID-19 in which 300,000 vehicles were no longer produced, which impacted the world market and caused a gap in long-term projections. However, it was possible to assess that, from 2035 onwards, the scenario undergoes an exponential change, leading us to equity in total CO₂ emissions per vehicle and the emission target established based on the European Union.
