A CT afeta o sistema reprodutor
A infertilidade é definida
outras.
Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) that reaches practitioner women, considered a great public health problem. For the present study it was done a search on the main data bases, with the objective to delve into the questions related to the chlamydia infection, infertility, the correlation between them, in addition to its diagnostic and treatment. This infection has as the etiological agent Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), an obligate intracellular bacteria, aerobic and gram-negative, it being an infection transmitted by the practice of unprotected sex and even during child birth. The CT has two life cycles that begin at the contamination of host epithelial surface cells. Most women present an asymptomatic condition, however, when symptomatic, women can present Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), caused by the infection of the uterus, fallopian tubes and adjacent pelvic structures, not related to pregnancy or surgery. The CT affects the female reproductive system causing urethritis and cervicitis, with sequelae that can include PID, ectopic pregnancy and reactive arthritis, which may lead to severe consequences, turning into a problem to human reproduction. Infertility is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the incapability to get pregnant, and many can be the causes, such as infectious, physiological, anatomical, hormonal, among others.
