A partir dessas tragédias,
ABSTRACT It is common knowledge that mining is an essential activity for society because it brings great representation in the economy. However, due to the disasters that occurred at the Fundão dam, in Mariana, and at the Córrego do Feijão dam, in Brumadinho, both in the state of Minas Gerais, there is strong pressure from society to create safe solutions. In Brumadinho, the Government of Minas Gerais accounted for approximately 272 deaths and 11 missing persons, while in Mariana, there were 19 deaths. From these tragedies, the look on all the mining dams in the country was expanded, especially those that have as a constructive method the raising upstream. The present study analyzes the changes set forth in the Política National de Segurança de Barragens (PNSB), established by Law Nº 12,334 and modified by Law Nº 14,066 of September 2020, detailing the structures of dams, their monitoring and inspection systems and, mainly, risks.
