Tendência temporal da mortalidade por causas externas em crianças e adolescentes no Brasil no período de 2011 a 2020

No Brasil, as causas externas são o principal motivo de óbito em jovens entre 10 e 39 anos e, nas últimas décadas, também se tornaram a primeira causa de óbito entre zero e nove anos. Os óbitos e sequelas ocasionadas pelas causas externas constituem importante demanda para a implementação de políticas públicas de segurança e saúde no Brasil. O presente estudo objetivou avaliar o perfil da mortalidade em crianças e adolescentes acometidas pelos acidentes e violências, e a tendência temporal destes agravos no Brasil entre os anos de 2011 e 2020. Estudo observacional de tipo ecológico com análise de séries temporais, tendo como fonte de dados as notificações de óbito por causas externas no Brasil no período de 2011 a 2020. Foram registrados 20.791 óbitos por causas externas no SIM, sendo os acidentes de transporte a causa mais prevalente, com 28,16% dos óbitos, e o sexo masculino o mais afetado (77,2%). Em relação à faixa etária, a maioria dos óbitos ocorreu na população entre 15-19 anos (65,37%). Houve forte tendência de redução dos óbitos por causas externas em adolescentes entre 10 e 14 anos e em crianças entre 5 e 9 anos. Em relação às grandes regiões, a maior taxa média foi observada na região Sul (35,6/1.000.000 habitantes), enquanto a menor, na Norte (31,5/1.000.000 habitantes). Acidentes de transporte, quedas e agressões foram as causas mais prevalentes de óbitos por causas externas no sexo masculino e em crianças entre 15-19 anos.
In Brazil, external causes are the main reason of deaths in the people between 10 to 39 years and, in the last decades, it became the leading cause of deaths in people between 0 to 9 years. The deaths and sequels caused by external causes compose an important demand to the implementation of public of health and security policies in Brazil. The present studie wanted to rate the mortality profile in children and teenagers affected by accidents or violences, and the temporal trend of this aggravation in Brazil in the years 2011 to 2020. Ecological observational studie with temporal series analysis, having as data sources the death notifications by external causes in Brazil, in the period of 2011 to 2020. There were registered 20.791 deaths by external causes at SIM, between them, transport accident was the most prevalent, with 28,16% of the total deaths, and the men the main affected (77,2%). About the age group, most of the deaths happened in the population in the age group between 15-19 years (65.37%). There was a strong tendency to reduction in deaths from external causes in teenager girls between 10 to 14 years and in children between 5 to 9 years. Referent the large regions, the highest average rate observed was in the South region (35,6/1.000,000 habitants), while the lowest was in the North (31,5/1.000,000 habitants). Transport accidents, falls and aggression in children were the most prevalent external causes of death in men, those age group were between 15-19 years.
