| dc.description.abstract | This paper presents a brief history of the German colonization in Rio Fortuna, seeking to analyze the way the implementation and development of education occurred in the new territory. Therefore, this paper aims to show how the Catholic religion played a fundamental role in the construction of the Our Lady of Fatima Elementary School. The German immigration to Brazil began after the political and social changes that took place in Germany, with the Napoleonic reforms. The population growth, the Industrial Revolution, the land-lost peasants and the economic crisis were the main factors for the German emigration. As a result of the reality faced by the Germans in their country, there was no other option but to emigrate. Due to the above factors, we seek to address the way the educational development happened in Rio Fortuna, understanding the context that the German colonization brought to the town, seeking to understand how the Catholic Church played a fundamental role in the implementation of the educational system and in the construction of the Our Lady of Fatima Elementary School. German colonizers have always known the importance of education in the individual’s development, as they highly valued education. As soon as they arrived in the new land, they tried to build their own schools. They were built through the joint effort of the entire community and, when necessary, they even paid to have a teacher. With the population growth in the town center, around the church, a small school was built, in which the classes were taught by members of the clergy, starting with a seminarian who was followed by two nuns. The nuns’ work was extremely important for the development of education in our town. In 1952 the construction of the new school was started, being Father Ludgero Waterkemper its founder. | en |
| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho apresenta uma breve história da colonização alemã em terras rio-fortunenses, buscando analisar como ocorreu a implementação e o desenvolvimento da educação no novo território. Nesse sentido, esse trabalho visa o objetivo de mostrar como que a religião católica teve um papel fundamental para a construção da Escola de Educação Básica Nossa Senhora de Fátima. A imigração alemã no Brasil começou após as transformações político-sociais ocorrido na Alemanha após as reformas napoleônicas. O crescimento populacional, Revolução Industrial, perda das terras pelos camponeses e a crise econômica foram os fatores para a emigração Alemã. Diante da realidade enfrentada pelos alemães em seu país, não restava outra oportunidade a não ser emigrar. No âmbito dessa discussão, buscamos abordar como ocorreu o desenvolvimento educacional em Rio Fortuna, compreendendo o contexto que a colonização alemã trouxe para o município, buscando entender como que a igreja católica teve um papel fundamental na implementação do sistema educacional e na construção da Escola de Educação Básica Nossa Senhora de Fátima. Os colonizadores alemães sempre souberam da importância da educação na formação do indivíduo, eles valorizavam e muito a educação. Logo que chegaram nas novas terras procuraram construir as suas próprias escolas. Ela era construída por meio do trabalho em conjunto de toda a comunidade e, quando necessário, chegavam a pagar para ter um professor. Com o crescimento populacional no centro do município, em torno da igreja, foi criado um pequeno colégio no qual as aulas eram ministradas por religiosos, primeiro um seminarista, posteriormente por duas Freiras. O trabalho das irmãs foi de extrema importância para o desenvolvimento da educação em nosso município. Em 1952 foi começado a construção do novo colégio, tendo o seu idealizador o Pe.
