Artigo Científico Acesso fechado Caracterização epidemiológica de gestantes vulneráveis conforme nascimentos em um hospital do sul do Brasil(2019) Alves, Gustavo ArrudaIntroduction: Pregnancy is a period of transformations and discoveries in a women's life, when associated with vulnerability presents greater challenges. Individuals who are vulnerable due to ethnic, social, economic or illness factors are more susceptible to damage or injury due to their exposure and condition. It was analyzed the social-clinical-epidemiological profile of pregnant women, the prevalence and type of vulnerability involved and the presence of associated maternal and child factors. Methods: Cross-sectional study with pregnant women assisted in labor at Nossa Senhora da Conceição Hospital (HNSC). Results: The profile of parturients according to vulnerability was black or brown with (8.00%), mothers under 18 years of age (4.70%), the migration phenomenon (0.60%), the use of drugs in pregnancy being licit and / or illicit (1.50%) and the presence of HIV and / or VDRL reagent in pregnant women with (2.30%). Women who used drugs during pregnancy had lower data on the average weight of the newborn, average height of the newborn and gestational time, however, a higher number of gestations and gynecological and / or obstetric complications compared to non-users. In addition, black or brown women expressed lower average newborn height, more pregnancies and complications compared to other ethnicities. Conclusions: There was statistical significance regarding ethnicity and drug use with p <0,05. The migratory phenomenon, adolescent pregnant women and HIV and / or VDRL reagents were not significant. The newborns of drug-using mothers had lower than expected mean weight and height for gestational age.
