Monografia Acesso aberto O motor a vapor: uma proposta contextualizada e interdisciplinar(2017) Cardoso, João MichelsNatural science teachers often face a lack of interests from their students during the classes; in consequence, the students present an unexpected performance in their evaluations. This fact is, besides other reasons, connected to the way the classes are taught. We often see classes based only in expositive method and focused in resolutions of standard exercises. There are many difficulties why teachers set aside experiments and the relationship between theory and practice. The present study checked if the thermochemistry teaching practice, in the high school, having as educational instrument an experiment of simulation of a steam engine might become in a meaningful content in view of theory of Ausubel, resulting in an actual construction of the knowledge. This case study was accomplished in a private school in Tubarão, south of Santa Catarina state, in 2017. The obtained results showed that the study is possible and financially viable as a teaching proposal of thermochemistry contents in an interdisciplinary work about steam engines’ studies. Many concepts of Chemical and Physics can be insert with a simple methodology and in an easy access to any teacher. The students had a satisfactory development in the contents and in the evaluations.
