Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Avaliação de protocolo de indução de ciclicidade em novilhas Bos taurus usando progesterona injetável(2020) Almeida, Arthur Marçal; Garbelotti, Fernando; Oliveira, Fernando Caetano deIn beef cattle production systems, reproductive protocols for artificial insemination are used on a large scale, with different managements and hormones constantly being studied in order to improve reproductive rates and expand alternatives to be used, with heifers being the category of heifers. great impact within the system. Considering the reproductive management for heifers, an important point within the cattle production chain worldwide, we are interested in evaluating the use of injectable progesterone associated with estradiol to induce puberty in heifers, along with the observation of estrus and AI. 185 heifers were used, crossbreeds of European breeds, with an average weight of 380 ± 20 kg and an average age of 26 ± 2 months. Gynecological examination was performed on all females, at D-22 and D0. The treated group (TRAT; n = 46) received the protocol for cyclicality induction, which consisted of applying 150 mg of injectable progesterone (P4; Sincrogest®, OuroFino), IM, on D-22, on D-12 1 mg of estradiol (ECP®, Zoetis), IM, and on D0, 0.530 mg of Cloprostenol (PGF; Ciosin®, MSD). The control group (CONT; n = 139) received a protocol for estrus synchronization with application of PGF (according to the TRAT group) on D-12 and D0. At D0, 12 hours after PGF, the estrus observations began in both groups, TRAT and CONT, with two daily observations, for 1 hour and 30 minutes early in the morning and late afternoon, until 144 hours after PGF (D6 ). Females who let themselves be ridden by other females were considered in heat, remaining immobile and with no escape reaction. Data are presented as mean ± SEM. P being generated by ANOVA and comparison of means by t test, considering statistical significance of P≤0.05. All procedures were performed using the JMP7 (SAS®) software. In the gynecological examination at D-22, CL was identified in 85% and 92%, for the TRAT and CONT groups, and 100% of the presence of CL in D0 (P> 0.05), which characterized the induction effect at cyclicality. Regarding the observation of estrus, the animals showed 76% (35/46) and 92% (128/139) (P <0.05), for the TRAT and CONT groups, respectively, possibly the lowest estrus expression in the TRAT group. due to the lack of follicular control, for the moment of PGF in D0. Also observed was the distribution of heat, and the peak of manifestation, with a concentration of 77.6% from 60 to 96 hours and 54% from 48 to 72 hours, for the CONT and TRAT groups, respectively, important for being related to follicular size at the time of PGF application, which may be related to ovulatory follicle size and oocyte quality. Thus, we conclude that protocols for inducing cyclicity with injectable P4 and estradiol induce cyclicity, but the lack of control of follicular development decreased the expression of estrus.
