Artigo Científico Acesso fechado Hidrocefalia congênita em cão - Relato de caso(2020) Alves, Bruna RamosHydrocephalus is a condition characterized by an increase in the volume of cerebrospinal fluid, with progressive dilation of the ventricular system and subsequent destruction and atrophy of the cerebral parenchyma. It can present in acquired and congenital form, the latter being more observed in dogs up to the first six months of life of small breeds and brachycephalics. Clinical signs may vary depending on the degree of increased intracranial pressure and the location of the brain injury, and may present behavioral changes, strabismus, seizures, nystagmus, ataxia, deformities in the skull and eye socket and difficulty in learning. The diagnosis is clinical with the aid of imaging tests. The treatment can be drug or surgical, considering the physical and clinical condition, in addition to the animal's etiology and age and the prognosis is considered reserved. This work reports the case of a canine, three months old who, after clinical and imaging exams, was diagnosed with congenital hydrocephalus, opted for drug treatment and the animal is without signs.Relatório de Estágio Acesso fechado Relatório de estágio supervisionado em medicina veterinária: clínica e cirurgia de cães e gatos(2020) Alves, Bruna RamosThis report refers to the activities carried out during the mandatory curricular internship in the area of Clinic and Surgery for small animals, carried out at the Veterinary Hospital Vi-tal, in the city of Laguna, SC from August 17 to October 22 2020, totaling 360 hours of monitored activities. This work reports the functioning and physical structure of the place where the internship takes place, as well as the activities developed during the internship period. Three clinical cases and a brief bibliographic review of each of them are also described, namely: Feline enterotomy with linear foreign body, feline chondrosis and dog cystotomy. The curricular internship was of paramount importance for the trainee's academic training, as it provided practical learning with the accompaniment of the intense routine among clinicians, interns, residents and specialists.
