Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Aplicação da radiofrequência na adiposidade localizada no abdômen(2017) Silva, Gabrielli Aparecida; Costa, Larissa LacerdaAbstract: Localized adiposity is characterized by the excess of adipocytes found in a disorderly way in regions of the body. Among the aesthetic resources used to attenuate and treat this alteration, radiofrequency (RF) stands out. The RF when applied on adipose tissue produces a stimulation of fat catabolism, favorable in body aesthetic treatments. Objective: To analyze the therapeutic effects of RF on adiposity located in the abdomen. Methodology: Exploratory, pre-experimental, qualitative-quantitative and longitudinal research. Participated 7 women, 20 to 29 years old, were evaluated by anamnesis form, photographic record and satisfaction questionnaire. Received abdominal RF, at 40 to 42ºC, twice a week, totaling 8 sessions. Results: By means of perimetry performed at the evaluation and four days after the last day of care showed average reduction of 1.7 cm for measurements of 5 cm above and below the umbilical scar and of 2.3 cm for the measurements in the line of umbilical scar. Final considerations: The therapeutic effects produced by RF evidenced the reduction in the adiposity located in the abdomen, the modeling in the abdominal contour, and the referred 'good satisfaction' by the participants. Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Os efeitos da drenagem linfática manual do método Leduc nos edemas dos membros inferiores das gestantes(2017) Coutinho, Caroline de Souza; Silva, Marilu Machado KasmierskiThe changes in the body of pregnant woman to favor the fetal accommodation and the reduction of the sodium through the urine can cause the gestational edema. Objective: To verify the effects of BMLD on lower limb edema, relating them to the quality of life of pregnant women. Methodology: The research was classified as pre-experimental with a qualitative-quantitative approach. Six pregnant women, aged between 22 to 32 years old, participated in this study, with interventions once a week, for ten sessions. They were evaluated by instruments: the anamnesis form, a validated questionnaire on quality of life (WHOQOL-bref), a gestational questionnaire and perimetry. Results: The data analysis was performed by investigating perimetry in the first, fifth, and last sessions of the BMLD and other data collections. Final considerations: BMLD promoted relaxation, well-being, pain relief, restful sleep, edema reduction, and improved the quality of life of pregnant women.Artigo Científico Acesso embargado A experiência dos profissionais da estética nas possíveis cirurgias plásticas e tratamentos estéticos realizados em transexuais(2020) Pedro, Maria Laura da SilvaIntroduction: Transsexuality happens when an individual is born with a certain biological sex that differs from their gender identity. Due to the characteristic chronicity, frequent recurrences, possible refractoriness to existing treatments, and with little-known pathophysiological aspects, tranexamic acid (TA) is a treatment option. AT is a hydrophilic plasmin-inhibiting compound used as an antifibriolytic agent and has a mechanism of action that restricts melanogenesis. Objective: To describe the effects of TA in the treatment of facial melasma. Materials and Method: It consisted of an integrative review that selected experimental and quasi-experimental studies; between 2010 to 2020; in the Scopus, LILACS, SciELO, PubMed, Medline databases, and an academic search engine (Google Scholar); with descriptors facial melasma, tranexamic acid, topical tranexamic acid, injectable tranexamic acid; in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Results and Discussion: Five studies were found that followed the inclusion criteria, with 173 participants, from Brazil, Japan and China; three studies were with oral treatments, one injectable and the other compared injectable and topical treatment with TA. The effects of TA in the treatment of melasma were effective, safe, with minimal side effects, highlighting satisfactory decreasing results of evidence in the methods of using injectable, topical and oral TA in an average of 3 to 16 weeks. Conclusion: The TA promoted a decrease in epidermal pigmentation and reversed the skin melasma dermal alterations in an average of 3 to 16 weeks, favoring women's self-esteem, self-image, social acceptance and quality of life. It was considered an effective, safe method, with minimal side effects, with decreasing evidence in the methods of using injectable, topical and oral TA.
