Monografia Acesso aberto A escola como um patrimônio cultural: o caso da Escola Nossa Senhora De Fátima no município de Rio Fortuna(2020) EingThis work starts from the need to recognize the cultural heritage of the most diverse groups that make up society, as an element of cultural reference of a collectivity, whether at the national level, whether those at state or regional level. In order to safeguard them, the need for them to be recognized at their local level is pointed out, as agglutinating and identifying elements. It seeks, then, to understand the Nossa Senhora de Fátima School as a cultural heritage in the perception of the residents of the central area of the municipality of Rio Fortuna. For this, a bibliographic survey of the historical trajectory and the socializing role of school institutions was made, as well as the category of cultural heritage and its multivocation was discussed. Through a case study, with the application of quantitative forms, the relationship between them and the institution was diagnosed with the residents of that area. Qualitative interviews recorded the memories of the community, attesting to the possibility of understanding it as a carrier of the collective memory of the central population of the municipality. The symbolic production of the residents towards it, therefore, makes the Nossa Senhora de Fátima School a cultural heritage. The recognition of this space as a place of memories of the community, would assist in the process of preservation and valorization of this cultural asset.
