Estudo de Caso Acesso aberto Dispositivo interoclusal para o tratamento de subluxação da articulação temporomandibular – relato de caso clínico(2017) Fischer, Luisa GarciaPatient MZ, female, leucoderma, 60 years old, attended the Dental Clinic of the Southern University of Santa Catarina, reporting as main complaint pain in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and masseter muscle. The clinical examination showed a mouth opening deviation to the left side and presence of articular click on this same side. Computed tomography of the TMJ showed right-side opening limitation and a "subluxation" on the left side of the joint. An occlusal splint was fitted, and night use was recommended to improve muscle and joint pain. Considerations regarding chewing, yawning and muscle rest were also passed on. After a year and nine months of treatment, the patient reported great pain relief. The occlusal splint was efficient in treating pain from TMJ.Estudo de Caso Acesso aberto Implante imediato com provisionalização imediata através de cicatrizador multifuncional de PEEK - relato de caso clínico(2018) Santos, Fernanda VenâncioThe aim of this article was to present a clinical case where the provisional restoration was fabricated over a multifunctional PEEK healing abutment, a biocompatible polymer can be customized and has excellent bond strength to resin composites. A dental implant was loaded at the region of tooth 21. After a palatal approach for implant placement, the buccal gap was filled with an alloplastic graft (Nanosynt). Then, the immediate restoration was fabricated with the multifunctional PEEK and an acrylic tooth form. At the delivery of the definitive restoration, the peri-implant soft tissue health and architecture were preserved.Estudo de Caso Acesso fechado Mordida aberta anterior - estudo de caso(2017) Back, Letícia MeyerDental malocclusion is altered growth and development, with the anterior open bite defined as the negative vertical overlap between the incisal edges of the anterosuperior and inferior teeth. Considered a complex anomaly, difficult to treat and with a high degree of impairment of the facial and aesthetic balance, it generates significant dental and skeletal alterations. The aim of this study is to study a case and review the literature on the etiology and treatment modalities of anterior open bite. In the present study, an infant-juvenile patient with mixed dentition and presence of anterior open bite was selected. In this patient, the interceptive device, McNamara with lingual grid, was installed. After 4 months of use of the orthodontic device, correction of the anterior open bite, improvement in facial harmony and lingual interposition was observed. It is concluded with this work that the treatment of this malocclusion should be performed early and preferably in a multidisciplinary manner. It is of great importance that dentistry professionals know the main etiologies for the development of this malocclusion, since early intervention results in better results and greater stability of the treatment, besides directly interfering in the quality of life of the patient by restoring the correct functioning of the stomatognathic system.Estudo de Caso Acesso aberto Osteotomia para tratamento de erupção passiva alterada - relato de caso com acompanhamento clínico de seis meses(2017) Najmeddine, YasminGummy smile is characterized by exposure of 3mm or more of gingiva during smile. One of the responsible factors is altered passive eruption that is characterized by the incomplete apical migration of the bone crest after the teeth have been into occlusion. In this case, the exposure of the crown is incomplete and result in a disproportion between the height and width of the tooth. The aim of this work was to report the treatment of Altered Passive Eruption with six months follow-up. Gengivectomy, osteotomy/osteoplasty and gengivoplasty were performed to correct the gummy smile and restore the harmony between the height and width of the anterior teeth. It can be concluded that the osteotomy in order to return the correct relationship between the cementum-enamel junction and bone crest is a safe and predictable option to obtain the harmony of the gingival margin of the anterior teeth. O desenvolvimento do caso foi realizado através de revisão de literatura e estudo do caso clínico, tratado e documentado no Curso de Graduação em Odontologia da Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina (UNISUL).Estudo de Caso Acesso embargado Uso da fibrina rica em plaquetas e leucócitos (L-PRF) no preenchimento alveolar pós-exodontia: revisão de literatura e relato de caso(2018) Magini, Eduarda BlasiCurrently, with the great demand for aesthetics and function in dentistry, the knowledge of the events that promote the dimensional changes of the bone crest and the possibilities of avoiding or diminishing these alterations it is extremely important. After tooth extraction, the volumetric bone loss will naturally occur and the alveolus will be remodeled. The importance of using techniques capable of maintaining the height and width of the edges, becomes a reality. The aim of this study is to perform a case report comparing the clinical and tomographic effects obtained after 2 months of of extraction surgery, of a post-extraction alveolus sealing of a patient treated with Leukocyte and Platelet Rich Fibrin (L-PRF). L-PRF acts as a three-dimensional fibrin matrix, that contains high concentrations of platelets, leukocytes, cytokines, and growth factors. It is believed that alveolar filling with Leukocyte and Platelet Rich Fibrin is an important technique, because it has a simple and efficient application, besides stimulating the regeneration of the tissues and accelerate the healing process, having a more satisfying effect when compared to a natural cicatrization.
