Relatório de Estágio Acesso fechado Relatório de estágio supervisionado em medicina veterinária: clínica e cirurgia de cães e gatos(2020) Konrad, LetíciaThe internship took place at the Veterinary Clinic Recanto da Mata, in Florianópolis, SC, in the area of clinic and surgery for dogs and cats, during the period from August 17th to October 22th of 2020, totaling 360 hours, distributed in 40h per week, Lara Elisa Medeiros was the supervisor veterinarian doctor and professor Ms. Jairo Nunes Balsini the advisor. During the internship period, the activities followed included consultations, acupuncture and ozone therapy sessions, surgeries, x-rays and ultrasound, inpatient follow-up and monitoring, medication administration, outpatient procedures, biological sample collections, pre- and post-surgical follow-up, and immunizations. This report describes the activities monitored during the curricular internship period, the structure of the internship location, and reports three clinical cases monitored during activities during the internship period, namely, use of ozone therapy in case of paraphimosis in a dog, feline signet ring type adenocarcinoma, and, eosinophilic acute dermatites and panniculitis in a dog. The curricular internship is extremely important for the formation of the academic in veterinary medicine, because it is the moment when the student has the possibility to apply in practice all the knowledge acquired during the five years of graduation, thus adding more personal and professional knowledge in the experience of the clinical routine, allowing the student to have more security to start his career as a veterinary medical professional.
