Monografia Acesso embargado Efeitos analgésicos dos batimentos binaurais: uma revisão integrativa da literatura(2020) Figueiredo, João Arthur Bilbao BrasilIntroduction: Binaural beat is the perceived interferential frequency from two slightly different pure tons applied one in each ear. In a study to evaluate the level of pain before and after the application of binaural beats, it was found that the participants reported a reduction in pain. Methods: Integrative review of the scientific literature, about the studies that used as the basis of their research the phenomenon of binaural beats and their effects on pain perception in a period of publication between 2010 and 2020. The review took place in the scientific databases: CAPES, BIREME, Scielo and PubMed. Inclusion criteria: to present evidence on the effects of binaural beats on pain perception, with publication period between 2010 and 2020. Exclusion criteria: duplicate studies and those that did not comment on reports on binaural beats and their respective effects on pain perception. Results: A total of 86 studies were obtained, 73 on the basis of CAPES, 6 in the Virtual Health Library, 7 at pubmed's base and 0 at the Scielo base. Of these, only 9 articles were selected for the present study. Conclusion: This research scientifically corroborated that the use of binaural beats in the pain picture is effective. However, further investigations are needed on the use of binaural beats, so that it strengthens and understands even more the mechanisms to which physiological effects are given.
