Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Análise do protocolo pediasuit sosbre a função motora grossa em crianças com paralisia cerebral(2017) Camilo, Sabrina SilvérioInduction: The rehabilitation process in children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) aims to minimize the effects of disability, promote independence and improve motor function. Pediasuit is a resource that has been proposed for the treatment of individuals with neurological disorders, whose objective is to restore biomechanical alignment, favoring stability and facilitating movement. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze the influence of the Pediasuit protocol on gross motor function in children with CP. Materials and Methods: We selected children with a diagnosis of CP enrolled in APAEs in the South Coast. The information regarding the Pediasuit protocol, as well as the results of the Gross Motor Function Measure - 88, were obtained through the records. Results: There was a statistical difference between the medians compared before and after treatment. It was observed that 75% of the sample had gains in motor skills and 25% did not demonstrate significant changes in the abilities proposed by dimensions D and E of GMFM-88. Final Remarks: The data presented suggest that the Pediasuit had an influence on the functional performance of the children submitted to the protocol, which was represented by the improvement of the gross motor skills performance proposed by GMFM-88.Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Comparação de exercícios ativos e técnica de relaxamento supervisionado no meio aquático em idosos(2017) Rosa, Beatriz Cardoso daIntroduction: Aquatic physiotherapy is indicated to prevent, maintain, retard and improve the physical and psychological dysfunctions of aging. The study aims to analyze and compare aquatic exercise and aquatic relaxation techniques in the elderly. Methods and Materials: A randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted. The population was composed of 18 elderly, allocated in the aquatic exercise group (GEA) and aquatic relaxation group (GRA). Blood pressure was measured in all the visits, to evaluate the pain we used the visual analogue scale (VAS), the stress measured by the perceived stress scale (PSS14), the force verified by the manual grip test (FPM), physical fitness evaluated by the six-minute walk test (6MWT) and the flexibility measured by the finger-ground test. We used the Mann-Whitney test (p <0.05) to analyze the effect of the intervention using the Wilcoxon test (p <0.05). For the evaluation of blood pressure throughout the intervention, linear regression of the means and Kruskal-Wallis test (p <0.05) were performed. Results: Aquatic physiotherapy was effective in reducing the stress (p = 0.013 and p = 0.012), in the FPM (p = 0.011 and p = 0.002), and in the stress reduction (p = 0.012 and p = 0.012). and systolic blood pressure (p = 0.046 and p = 0.005). There was no significant effect on the distance of the 6MWT (p = 0.317 and p = 0.083) and flexibility (p = 0.128 and p = 0.097) in the groups. Final Considerations: Both interventions showed benefits for the elderly in the stress, FPM, pain and SBP, and there was no difference between the groups.Artigo Científico Acesso fechado O método isostretching® e a hidrocinesioterapia na correção postural e ganho de amplitude articular de ombro em pacientes submetidas à mastectomia(2017) Yuasa, Ana CarolinaInduction: Breast cancer is a malignant neoplasm that grows in a disordered and uncontrolled way reaching the breast tissue and its peripheries and one of its methods of treatment is the mastectomy that it is a surgical procedure in order to spread the affected tissue. As a result of the surgical procedure, some postural changes occur due to the acquired analgesic posture, and joint limitations also occur due to the surgical incision and its complications. This study will be compared to the effectiveness of the Isostretching® method and hydrokinesiotherapy for joint amplitude gain and postural correction. Methods and Materials: A study of the experimental type performed at the Clinic School of Physical Therapy at Unisul, Tubarão - SC. It was performed in 10 sessions consisting of the evaluation, which analyzes the joint amplitude of the shoulder in the abduction and flexion movements and the postural evaluation of the trunk and upper limbs; after applying the two therapeutic methods in two distinct groups (8 sessions); and reevaluation. Results: The estimated sample number (n = 30) was not achieved. A total sample of 6 volunteers divided into 2 groups (n = 3) each was obtained. In the comparison there was no statistically significant increase of articular amplitudes and postural alignments (p <0.05) in the physiotherapeutic treatments compared. Final Remarks: In the present study, the two methods demonstrated similar effects, however, the result was not significant (p <0.05) because the number of volunteers estimated for the study was not reached. It is suggested that further studies be performed.Monografia Acesso aberto O efeito da cinesioterapia laboral nos acadêmicos do curso de odontologia na UNISUL de Tubarão - SC(2017) Silva, Luana Teixeira daIntroduction: Dental surgeons are the professionals who most present DORT symptoms, this is because they adopt an inadequate posture for long periods, affecting mainly upper limbs and trunk. As a preventive measure, we have the labor kinesiotherapy, which consists of exercises in the workplace. The present study aimed to verify the effects of occupational kinesiotherapy on the general physical state, disposition and job satisfaction in the dental students of UNISUL, Tubarão - SC. Materials and Methods: This was an experimental study, in which the sample consisted of 24 students aged 19 to 24 years old, divided into two groups, experimental and control, with 12 individuals for each group. Participants were assessed by questionnaire that contained the general physical state, satisfaction and willingness to work. Work kinesiotherapy was applied for 15 minutes, three times a week, with a five week period. The exercises contained stretches of MMSS, MMII, and trunk. Results: There were no statistically significant results, but it was found that 50% of the students in the experimental group reported improvement in pain in MMSS, in the trunk there was a reduction of pain of 20.38%, and there was an increase in the disposition of 50.17 %. Final Thoughts: Although it did not present significant results, the data obtained showed a tendency to reduce musculoskeletal pain.Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Fotobiomodulação aplicada no pós operatório em lesões de pés diabéticos(2017) Santos, Milena Claudia FagundesABSTRACT Introduction: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a disease of high glucose level known for several complications. Unstable degrees of resistance and difficulty of insulin flow, deficiency of hormone response in peripheral tissues, difficult scarring and bacterial control are common complications in diabetic foot. One of the treatments that have scientific evidence to aid in the healing process and antibacterial effect is biophotomodulation through LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) 660 nm and LED (Light Emitting Diode) 470 nm. Materials and Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study in which the sample consisted of 9 patients, totaling 11 diabetic feet with ulcerations and / or amputations, mean age of 64.2 years and divided into three groups: Group 1 ( LASER / LED), Group 2 (LASER) and Group 3 (LED), evaluated through Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for pain, cirtometry for edema evaluation, contracture evaluation of the treated area through photo before and last session, with an average of seven sessions three times a week. Results: Group 1 showed increased granulation tissue, epithelial tissue, greater retraction of the ulceration area, hydrated borders without hyperkeratosis, being superior to isolated therapies. Final Considerations: The application of LASER reconciled with the LED was promising and presented superior results to the isolated applications of LASER and LED. It is necessary to continue the study in a larger number of patients to obtain greater conclusive results. It is hoped that this treatment will be added to conventional treatment, providing a better quality of life for individuals suffering from diabetic feet, thus avoiding further amputations.Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Avaliação da disfunção sacroilíaca em profissionais da educação infantil(2017) Gund, Cristine Schott MahlkeIntroduction: In work activities, nursery education professionals are exposed to risk factors for the development of musculoskeletal disorders. A possible disorder that may occur is sacroiliac dysfunction. Objective: To characterize the sacroiliac dysfunction in these professionals, to analyze the work postures and the pain, measuring the musculoskeletal symptoms. Materials and methods: Twenty-eight nursery school professionals from the Dehon High School, Tubarão/SC participated. The aspects analyzed were: sacroiliac dysfunctions, comparison of the intertest results (Gillet, Standing Flexion and Downing), patterns of musculoskeletal pain, and more frequent work positions. For the analysis of the variables, non-parametric tests (Friedman test and Dunn's multiple comparisons test) were used for paired samples, with a significance level of 5%. Results: Analyzing the positioning of the sacroiliac joint, the prevalence of dysfunction in iliac anteriority was verified in all mobility tests, and positioning of the sacrum with a higher incidence of posteriorisation. There was no statistically significant difference between the mobility tests performed. The most reported pain was the lower back (43%). The postures that need immediate intervention are: squatting, kneeling and picking up children / objects from the ground. Final considerations: When applied together, the tests presented a diagnosis of good reliability. Given the results, the postures adopted by the educators can cause pain, fatigue and stress. This is especially true for room furniture and improper postures. Therefore, the school is a field of action for the physiotherapist, for the application of physiotherapeutic and ergonomic resources.Monografia Acesso aberto Efeitos da radiofrequência e da estimulação elétrica nervosa transcutânea no tratamento de dor pélvica crônica(2017) Andrade, Ohana VirginiaIntroduction: Chronic pelvic pain (CPD) is defined as pain in the lower abdomen or pelvic region, presenting pain lasting long, affecting during menacing (18 to 50 years). Physical therapy has been employed in the treatment of these women using electrotherapeutic resources such as TENS and RF. The objective of this study was to analyze the effects of RF compared to TENS applications on pain symptomatology in women with CPD. Methods and Materials: The sample consisted of 8 women aged between 18 and 50 years. The volunteers were divided into two groups, group A receiving TENS applications and group B RF, 10 sessions, twice a week. Pain was assessed through the Visual Analogue Scale (EVA) and quality of life through the Brazilian Version of the Quality of Life Questionnaire (SF-36) in the form of an interview. For statistical analysis, mean, standard deviation and t-test (p <0.05) were used. Results: There was no significant difference according to VAS, however, both groups presented pain reduction. In the SF-36 questionnaire, the domains limitations due to emotional aspects and mental health presented a significant difference in group A. Among the groups there was significant difference only in the domain limitation by emotional aspects. Regarding the scores obtained in this questionnaire, there was improvement in all domains after treatment. Final consideration: Even without significant results, TENS and RF reduced pain after treatment and consequently improved quality of life scores.Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Equoterapia nas alterações comportamentais de crianças com transtorno do espectro autista(2017) Toreti, Michele SouzaIntroduction: Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a group of neurodevelopmental disorders, children with ASD usually present behavioral changes manifested by deficits in communication and social interaction, with repetitive and stereotyped movements. Equine therapy uses horse as a therapeutic resource, allowing the stimulation of various domains of functioning, and is especially suitable for these children. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to verify the practice of equine therapy in behavioral changes in children with ASD. Materials and Methods: Fifteen children with a diagnosis of ASD aged between two and 12 years were selected. The children had their behavior evaluated with the CARS scale - Childhood Autism Rating Scale- version in Portuguese, before and after treatment and were divided into a control and experimental group, the first one was only evaluated and reevaluated, and the second received as an intervention the Equoterapia, were 10 interventions of 40 minutes, twice a week. Results: Three children were excluded from the study, in which case a sample of 12 patients was obtained, seven were the Experimental Group and five were the Control Group. Statistical analysis, using the Wilcoxon test, showed no statistical difference in behavior in the Control Group (p = 0.25), but in the Experimental Group (p = 0.01) after treatment. Final Thoughts: The results of this work demonstrate that Equoterapia has a positive effect on the behavior of children with ASD.Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Eficácia do método back school em funcionários de serviços gerais da Unisul(2017) Mendes, Tatiane GhisiIntroduction: The work of cleaning is typically manual, and the most significant risk factors associated with this work are the presence of static muscle loads, since these require a lot of trunk flexion and rotation, being documented along with low back pain. Back School is a method of postural training used in the prevention and treatment of patients with low back pain. It is composed of theoretical and educational information and practice of therapeutic exercises for the spine. Materials and Methods: This is an experimental study, applied to general service employees of UNISUL, using the Data Sheet as a tool for data collection, qualitative pain scale and the Roland Morris Questionnaire. Evaluated using the Wilcoxon test for dependent and independent samples, it was analyzed with a significance of 5% (α = 0.05) and a 95% confidence level. Results: According to the Wilcoxon test for pain scale, performed with independent and dependent samples with α = 0.05, the group that received the Back School intervention showed a significant difference of p <0.05, statistically evidencing that there was improvement in pain after intervention, the group that did not receive intervention o p> 0.05. Regarding the Roland Morris questionnaire, the groups comparing o p> 0.05 were compared, but the groups that received the intervention o p <0.05 and the other group p> 0.05 compared with the other groups, indicating that the group who received the Back School intervention presented significant improvement in pain relief. Final Considerations: The study developed by the researchers was beneficial to the participants, improving the pain and made these individuals more active during treatment.Artigo Científico Acesso fechado O efeito do método therapy taping® em hálux valgo de bailarinas clássicas(2017) Matias, TâniaIntroduction: The Therapy Taping® method is widespread worldwide in sports activities, which consists of the application of therapeutic elastic bandage, and can be applied in any type of orthopedic, neurological injury among others. In classic dancers, a problem called hallux valgus occurs, a deformity caused by valgus deviation of the hallux, causing medial deviation of the head of the first metatarsal and lateral bone of the phalanges, lateral subluxation of the sesamoids and intrinsic musculature, and also pronation. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of the application of the Therapy Taping® method in the treatment of hallux valgus in classical dancers. Materials and methods: The sample was composed of 26 dancers from the Studio Dança Voga de Tubarão-SC, evaluated by means of an evaluation form, measuring goniometry and pain. The evaluated dancers graduated their pain through an analogue scale interpreted in values from 0 (without pain) to 10 (intense pain). The bandage was applied for 4 weeks and after 7 days the last application was performed reevaluation. Results: There was a significant improvement in pain of 31%, evidencing that the method was positive for the treatment and prevention of hallux valgus, improving the left foot goniometry in 36% and the right foot in 38%, bringing about a change in esthetics of the foot. Final considerations: The Therapy Taping® method proved effective in correcting hallux valgus deformity. However, more scientific studies are needed to prove the effect of this method on hallux valgus in classical dancers.Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Mobilização neural na cefaleia(2017) Martignago, Natiéle dos SantosInduction: Headache is a common complaint that consists of any pain referred to in the cephalic segment. Physiotherapy uses various treatment techniques to improve symptoms of headache, such as neural mobilization and muscle stretching. Objective: Analyze the effect of neural mobilization on headache. Methods: Randomized controlled trial. The sample consisted of 30 randomly allocated subjects (Group neural mobilization (MN) n = 16; Group Cervical Stretching (AC) n = 14). The neural mobilization was the ULNT1 (Upper Limb Neurodinamic Test) technique that evaluates median nerve restrictions. The stretches involved the region of the cervical musculature passively. We included individuals of both genders who suffered headache for at least 6 months, aged between 18 and 40 years. The evaluation card, visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to measure the amount of pain, and a HIT-6 questionnaire that measures the impact of headache. Results: The presence of adverse neural tension in the MN group reached 93.75%, suggesting a relation with the occurrence of headache in the group. The pain of headache, visual analogue scale, frequency of episodes in quantity and HIT-6 score significantly decreased to the ANOVA test, Student's T test, respectively, in both groups after the evaluations (p <0.01). Conclusion: Both MN and AC were effective in relieving the symptoms of headaches and reducing the impact of pain through the HIT-6 questionnaire.Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Estudo comparativo da reabilitação virtual Nintendo Wii® e Xbox®360 kinect no controle de tronco do paciente pós acidente vascular encefálico(2017) Biehl, Monica MachadoIntroduction: One of the leading causes of death and disability in the world according to the World Health Organization (WHO) is stroke. Post-stroke patients have great difficulty in maintaining postural control and balancing due to muscle weakness in the trunk resulting from the disease. Virtual reality (VR) is an interface between man and computer that gains more and more space in clinical environments using interactive video games. Objective: To evaluate the effect of virtual rehabilitation: Nintendo Wii® and Xbox®360 kinect in the control of patients post AVE. Materials and Methods: The study consisted of a sample of 20 individuals selected from the waiting list of the physiotherapy clinic of UNISUL in Tubarão, and only 14 met the inclusion criteria, with clinical diagnosis of stroke and sequela of hemiplegia. After the selection of the sample the individuals were separated by lottery in two groups, group WII that used the console Nintendo Wii® and group Xbox that used the console Xbox®360 kinect. Results: Both technologies obtained statistically significant results (p <0.05) regarding the improvement of trunk control. However, when compared, they did not show statistically significant results (p> 0.05). Final considerations: The use of VR with both technologies studied has been shown to be beneficial in improving the trunk control of post-stroke patients when used as a therapeutic resource.Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Efeitos do conceito Halliwick® em pacientes com fibromialgia(2018) Borges, Isadora VieiraIntroduction: Fibromyalgia is a syndrome in which the individual feels throughout the body for long periods of time, with tenderness in the joints, muscles, tendons and other soft tissues. Fibromyalgia is also linked to fatigue, sleep disorders, headaches. Physiotherapy aims to intervene in the process, seeking to improve the quality of life of patients. Healthcare Physiotherapeutic techniques, the Halliwick® concept uses exercises for balance, breathing and free-form efforts. Objective: to evaluate the effects of the Halliwick® concept in the treatment of women affected by fibromyalgia. Methods: quasi-experimental, quantitative study. It was used to collect data from a physiotherapeutic evaluation form; Corlett diagram to identify points of pain; ground finger test to assess trunk flexibility and the impact on fibromyalgia (FIQ) to evaluate activities of daily living. We selected 12 women with clinical diagnosis of fibromyalgia who reached 15 sessions of therapy with the Halliwick® concept, with a duration of 45 minutes, 02 times a week, at the Clinic School of Physiotherapy of Unisul, Tubarão - Santa Catarina (SC). Results: the mean number and Wilcoxon pattern of pairs combined (p <0.05). The payment raised benefits in flexibility (p = 0.0078); in pain (p = 0.0156); and not FIQ (p = 0.0029), being statistically indices. Conclusion: The Haliwick concept has proven to be effective in the treatment of women with fibromyalgia.Monografia Acesso aberto Análise do perfil profissional e sociodemográfico dos fisioterapeutas que atuam na cidade de Tubarão/SC(2018) Alves, João Felipe da RosaIntroduction: Physiotherapy is considered a new health Professional, even having therapeutic records since 4000 BC. The physiotherapist can act in several areas, having specialties. Knowledge of the professional profile is important to understand the difficulties encountered, in which the Council can develop appropriate structures for the professionals and provide a way for them to adapt to the market’s needs, having in mind the best service to offer. Objectives: To investigate the professional and sociodemographic profile of physiotherapists working in the Tubarão / SC. Methodology: Cross–sectional quantitative descriptive study. The sample consisted of 40 physiotherapists working in the city of Tubarão-SC. The research was conducted using a questionnaire delivered to professional working place. Results: The results were expressed in tables of frequency and / or percentage. All physiotherapists were affiliated to CREFITO-10 and 75.5% were female. The graduation of 27 of the physiotherapists interviewed was at the University of the Southern of Santa Catarina - UNISUL, in Tubarão-SC. We found that professionals worked in more than one area, 28 of them in the Trauma-orthopedic area. Conclusion: It was possible to investigate several points in physiotherapy area, one of them the area of action of these professionals, highlighting a high number of participants in the Trauma orthopedic area. This aspect contributes broadly to the college students. However, this study expected to bring credibility to the professional are and for future physiotherapists to be able to observe a broader way of acting.Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Os efeitos do método pilates e da liberação miofascial na lombalgia crônica(2018) Adelino, Vera ReginaIntroduction: Nonspecific chronic low back pain is the low back pain, with unknown cause, for a period longer than 12 weeks. Physicaltherapy is one of the treatment options bringing techniques like the Pilates method and myofascial release (MFR). Objective: Analyze the effects of the Pilates method and the MRF, separately, on chronic low back pain. Methods: experimental, quantitative study with 20 volunteers in two groups: MFR (G1) and Pilates (G2). The evaluation was done with the Visual Analog Pain Scale, third finger to the ground test and Roland Morris questionnaire. There were performed 10 sessions, twice a week, for 50 minutes. Ressults: Data analysis considered p <0.05 significant. The G1’s mean pain before treatment was 6.67 and after was 4.33 (p = 0.5000). In G2, the mean pain before treatment was 8 and after was 3 (p = 0.2500). The G1’s mean flexibility before treatment was 55 cm and after 43.67 cm (p = 0.2500) in G2, before treatment was 46.33 cm and after 35.67 cm (p = 0.2500). The mean score for the pain impact in G1 was, before treatment, 8.33 and after 5,33 (p = 0.5000). In G2, the mean score for the pain impact before treatment was 11.67 and after 6,66 (p = 0.2500). In the Kruskal Wallis test (G1 versus G2), there was no significant result before and after treatments, as the value was p> 0.9999. Conclusion: Although not statistically significant, both techniques, when analyzed individually, were beneficial in the treatment of chronic low back pain.Monografia Acesso fechado Avaliação da força de preensão palmar antes e após uma competição de motociclismo off road(2018) Schultz, Murilo BurigoIntroduction: Off road motorcycling is an activity practiced worldwide, both in a professional and leisure way. The athlete is very demanding during the practice of the sport, and may suffer some injuries mainly in the upper limbs, generally affecting the palmar grip strength. This force, which can be measured by dynamometers like the Jamar®, gold standard, bringing reliable results. It is necessary to know the sport and the needs of the athlete practicing this, so that it can be better prepared and have better results during the competition. Objective: To evaluate palmar grip strength before and after an off road motorcycle competition. Methodology: The present study is of an explanatory type in which the sample was composed of 29 motorcyclists with a mean age of 32.56 years. A palmar grip test was performed before and after the 4th Stage of the Enduro Cup F.I.M. (International Motocross Federation) getting the results from the average of 3 measurements. Results: The practice of motocross occurs more for leisure, and the average is a maximum of 4 workouts / month. In the evaluation of the difference between the palmar grip strength before and after the right hand, and before and after the left hand the result was significant (p <0.05) for both hands by the Wilcoxon test. Conclusion: It is necessary a study with a greater number of participants to obtain greater conclusive results, including the training phase of the athletes.Artigo Científico Acesso fechado Isostretching® nas principais alterações gestacionais(2018) Cardoso, Ane Izabele FagundesIntroduction: Lumbar pain and urinary incontinence (UI) are commons in pregnancy, due to physiological and anatomical changes. Isostreching® is a global postural method that strengthens and flexes the muscles, adjusting posture, flexibility and promotes body awareness. Purpose: To verify the applicability of the Isostretching® method in the musculoskeletal alterations during pregnancy and valuate the improvement of the quality of life and UI after the physiotherapeutic treatment. Methods: Experimental study of a qualitative approach, composed of 8 pregnant women where the evaluation was done through the anamnesis form, Kings Health Questionnary (KHQ) and Rolland Morris Questionnaire. Results: The results of the Roland Morris Questionnaire were not significant when compared before and after low back pain, with p= 0.088 (p >0.05). In the comparison of KHQ before and after the intervention, we can observe that the result is statistically significant in the variables: sleep and disposition (p= 0.016), and severity measures (p= 0.027), (p <0.05). Conclusion: Isostretching® was considered beneficial, related to pain relief, quality of life and urinary incontinence, being simple to perform and relatively effective.Artigo Científico Acesso fechado Os efeitos da criolipólise na pseudoginecomastia(2018) Lima, Mayara da Silva Oreano FerreiraIntroduction: Localized adiposity is a dysfunction that most prevails the treatments in the clinics. One technique that has emerged as the main conduit for localized fat reduction is cryolipolysis. Increased adipose tissue can occur due to hyperplasia (enlargement) and hypertrophy (enlargement) of the cells. In Gynecomastia the increase of the glandular tissue happens, already in the pseudoginecomastia is the increase of adipose tissue. For the reduction of pseudoginecomastia we used the noninvasive technique of cryolipolysis. The mechanism that results in immediate depositary bankruptcy and gradual apoptosis of adipocytes, inflammatory panniculitis, phagocytosis process and consequently cleaning of the involved site. Objective: To evaluate the effect of Cryolipolysi, in reducing adipose tissue in pseudoginecomastia. Methodology: Patients were evaluated using Analog Scale (EVA), and for the physical examination the Cescorf ® adipometer was used to measure the localized fat, perimetry for the measurement of the circumference of the chest and photos for the before/after comparison. Results: Data were collected from June to October 2018, where the sample had 7 volunteers. After 90 days of the procedure, a statistically significant result was observed in the Wilcoxon test in relation to the decrease in the perimetry of the volunteers (p = 0.027). Conclusion: In the present study, cryolipolysis proved to be effective in reducing pseudoginecomastia, however, more researches with a larger sample and more applications are needed to elucidate the efficacy of the technique.Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Efeitos do método pilates na lombalgia dos policiais militares(2018) Neumann, Marina PratesIntroduction: Lumbar pain presented to low back pain. An instrument of physical therapy to improve symptoms, such as the Pilates method. Objective: To analyze the Pilates method in the Miliar Police Cops. Methods: A quasi-experimental, quantitative study with 10 policemen. The instruments for data collection were: evaluation card, third finger test for the soil for flexibility, Visual Analog Pain Scale, Oswestry questionnaire. Pilates classes, 02 times per week, for 45 minutes. We evaluated Wilcoxon's combined pairs of the classification (p <0.05). Results: response time was 12.3 (standard deviation ± 4.61) and had a mean time of 9.6 (standard deviation ± 6.65). There was no statistically significant result, since the value was p = 0.2500. As for pain, the mean was two years, the standard was zero and the treatment the average was one (standard standard ± 0.57). There was no statistically significant result, since the value was p = 0.2500. The pre-treatment Oswestry questionnaire averaged 14.67 (standard deviation ± 10), and the mean treatment was 1,155 (standard deviation ± 3,464). There was no statistically significant result, since the value was p = 0.2500. Conclusion: The Pilates Method did not present benefits in the low back pain of the police in an automatic way instead of reducing the levels of lumbar incapacity. Suggest new searches with a larger message.Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Atuação fisioterapêutica em pacientes portadores de rinossinusite crônica(2018) Santos, Carolina Maria Camilo dosIntroduction: Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a disease of the paranasal sinuses and upper airways, characterized by nasal obstruction, rhinorrhea, loss of smell and facial pain. CSR affects the quality of its students by its continuous and persistent. Objectives: The purpose of physical therapy with the use of manual lymphatic drainage and eucalyptus essential oil in patients with CRS. Patients and Methods: Randomized clinical trial. The instruments used were: age, sex, symptoms, Nasal Scale for Symptom Assessment (NOSE), Nasal Peak Expiratory Flow to evaluate nasal obstruction, SF-36 quality of life questionnaire, visual analogue scale for facial pain and obstruction nasal. The groups were divided into two groups: experimental group (EG) receiving nasal lavage, manual lymphatic drainage with eucalyptus essential oil and control group (CG) and submitted to nasal maintenance and surface slip. Results: When we evaluate the effect of physiotherapeutic intervention, there was a statistically significant difference in SF-36 quality of life, nasal obstruction, facial pain perception and NOSE score scores in both groups. That is, only one NOSE variable in a lower hearing in the EG compared to GC (p = 0.034) in the post-intervention physiotherapy. Conclusion: patients with CRS were beneficiaries of the non-pharmacological treatment protocol for the analysis of the symptoms, mainly with regard to nasal obstruction quantified by the NOSE scale.
