Monografia Acesso fechado Avaliação da força de preensão palmar antes e após uma competição de motociclismo off road(2018) Schultz, Murilo BurigoIntroduction: Off road motorcycling is an activity practiced worldwide, both in a professional and leisure way. The athlete is very demanding during the practice of the sport, and may suffer some injuries mainly in the upper limbs, generally affecting the palmar grip strength. This force, which can be measured by dynamometers like the Jamar®, gold standard, bringing reliable results. It is necessary to know the sport and the needs of the athlete practicing this, so that it can be better prepared and have better results during the competition. Objective: To evaluate palmar grip strength before and after an off road motorcycle competition. Methodology: The present study is of an explanatory type in which the sample was composed of 29 motorcyclists with a mean age of 32.56 years. A palmar grip test was performed before and after the 4th Stage of the Enduro Cup F.I.M. (International Motocross Federation) getting the results from the average of 3 measurements. Results: The practice of motocross occurs more for leisure, and the average is a maximum of 4 workouts / month. In the evaluation of the difference between the palmar grip strength before and after the right hand, and before and after the left hand the result was significant (p <0.05) for both hands by the Wilcoxon test. Conclusion: It is necessary a study with a greater number of participants to obtain greater conclusive results, including the training phase of the athletes.
