There are indirect restoration techniques that are onlays, inlays and overlays. In this present work, 22 articles with clinical case studies from pub med and Google Scholar were reviewed to compare the effectiveness of each step of such restoration, verifying its longevity and excellence over the years. It is concluded that longevity is subject to an adequate and conservative preparation principle, an accurate impression and mainly the choice of material. The accuracy of digital printing techniques contributed to studies indicating that the Impress cad system (lithium disilicate) is the most suitable, as it has greater adhesion when compared to other materials, thus facilitating its cementation and resistance.
