In recent years, the search for a youthful appearance has increased, aimed at facial harmonization, both for aesthetic purposes and to manage the aging that occurs due to the gradual loss of collagen and thus causing the appearance of the dreaded wrinkles and expression lines. Among the most popular procedures are the minimally invasive ones, such as dermal fillers with hyaluronic acid, which are the most sought after today. This article will address the possible intercurrences caused by HA fillers and the form of reversal, as well as the situations in which these intercurrences are more common. Through selected scientific articles, data were found such as: procedures performed by qualified and non-qualified professionals, which showed a great difference in the frequency of intercurrences between the two groups; types and locations of complications on the face and the feasibility of treating complications with hyaluronidase. However, the increase in procedures also resulted in an increase in possible complications resulting from the applications of fillers that contain hyaluronic acid in their main composition, requiring the use of hyaluronidase to reverse the effects of fillers.
