Chronic pain is frequent in patients in Veterinary Medicine routine. It is a process that includes recurrent physiological modulations that can cause comportamental changes that can be misidentified by caregivers, and worsen the patient’s quality of life. This work aims to summarize the current main palliative treatments, describing how they can modulate pain response. A multimodal therapy tends to be beneficial to integrate protocols that can be potentiated and decrease doses. It must be considered pathogenesis, senility, concomitant diseases, drug interactions, side effects so that multimodal therapy can be established in an effective way.
