Resumo
Tendo em mente que diversos profissionais, por demais qualificações que tenham, ainda buscam mais opções de renda e/ou desempenham mais de uma função em seu trabalho atual, ambas gerando sobrecarga física e emocional, encontramos os profissionais definidos como “workaholics”. Este projeto tem como objetivo compreender a relação entre workaholism e saúde mental de profissionais docentes do ensino superior de instituição privada. O contato foi mediado pelos próprios pesquisadores do projeto. Os participantes foram informados sobre os objetivos e procedimentos do estudo e forneceram seu consentimento por meio do termo. Os dados foram coletados através de questionários do Google Docs. Sendo um questionário sociodemográfico, uma a Escala de Ansiedade, Depressão e Stress (EADS-21) (RIBEIRO; HONRADO; LEAL, 2004) e a Escala de Workaholism Versão Breve (DUWAS-10) (VASQUEZ et al.; 2018). Os resultados apontam que os participantes apresentam características workaholic por meio das horas semanais trabalhadas, bem como também pelo volume de horas trabalhadas em horários de folga. Também apresentam algumas características workaholic baseadas na escala DUWAS-10.
Keeping in mind that many professionals, regardless of their qualifications, still seek additional income options and/or perform multiple roles in their current work, both of which generate physical and emotional overload, we find professionals defined as "workaholics". This project aims to understand the relationship between workaholism and the mental health of teaching professionals in private higher education institutions. The contact was mediated by the researchers themselves. Participants were informed about the objectives and procedures of the study and provided their consent through a form. Data was collected through Google Docs questionnaires, including a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Anxiety, Depression, and Stress Scale (EADS-21) (RIBEIRO; HONRADO; LEAL, 2004), and the Brief Workaholism Scale (DUWAS-10) (VASQUEZ et al.; 2018). The results indicate that participants exhibit workaholic characteristics based on weekly hours worked, as well as the volume of hours worked during off-hours. They also exhibit some workaholic characteristics based on the DUWAS-10 scale.
