Introduction: Stroke is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, representing a significant challenge for healthcare professionals. In the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), stroke patients face a critical phase in their recovery process, where specific therapeutic interventions can have a crucial impact on their prognosis. Objective: To investigate the effects of early mobilization in stroke patients in the ICU, analyzing its influence on motor functionality, length of stay and prevention of complications related to immobility. Methods: The present study is an integrative review. Results: From the searches in the selected database, a total of 139 articles were found. After careful analysis of the studies and selection according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 6 studies were selected for the present integrative review. Conclusion: The studies reviewed suggest that early mobilization in stroke patients in the ICU has the potential to improve motor functionality, reduce length of stay and prevent complications related to immobility. However, more research is needed to confirm these results and establish clear guidelines for clinical practice.
