dc.description.abstract	FOUNDATIONS: Melanoma corresponds to the most severe type of skin cancer and teledermatology may represent an attempt to serve populations with low density of specialists, including for the diagnosis and management of patients with suspected lesions. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the outcomes and referrals of patients screened by teledermatology with suspicion of melanoma. METHODS: Retrospective Cohort study developed through the census reports of teledermatology from January to December 2014, at the Telehealth Nucleus- Santa Catarina. The patients were contacted to elucidate the possible outcomes of each case. RESULTS: 220 reports were analyzed, 69 patients participated in the study. Most were referred via TFD and approximately 24% lost follow-up. More than half performed surgery and there was a homogeneous distribution between histopathological results for melanoma and non-melanoma lesions. In the Extremo Oeste region of the state there was a longer average time to perform dermatological consultation and to perform surgery, relative risk of 5 and 8 times respectively (p <0.05). There was no statistical significance when compared to referrals. LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY: Analysis of a short period of time and the population exclusively from Santa Catarina may not be representative for other populations in the country. CONCLUSIONS: Further studies should be performed to investigate the loss of follow-up of patients with suspected melanoma, screened by teledermatology as well as to analyze the Extremo Oeste discrepancy in the management of these patients.	en
dc.description.abstract	FUNDAMENTOS: O melanoma corresponde ao tipo mais grave de câncer da pele e a teledermatologia pode representar uma tentativa de atender populações com baixa densidade de especialistas inclusive para diagnóstico e manejo dos pacientes com lesões suspeitas. OBJETIVO: Analisar os desfechos e encaminhamentos de pacientes triados pela teledermatologia com suspeita de melanoma. MÉTODOS: Estudo de Coorte retrospectivo desenvolvido através do censo de laudos da teledermatologia de janeiro a dezembro de 2014, no Núcleo Telessaúde- Santa Catarina. Os pacientes foram contatados para elucidar os possíveis desfechos de cada caso. RESULTADOS: 220 laudos foram analisados, 69 pacientes participaram do estudo. A maioria foi encaminhada por via Tratamento Fora de Domicílio e aproximadamente 24% perderam o seguimento. Mais da metade realizaram cirurgia e houve distribuição homogênea entre resultado histopatológico para lesões de melanoma e não melanoma. Na região do Extremo Oeste do estado houve maior tempo médio para realização de consulta dermatológica e para realização de cirurgia, risco relativo de cinco e oito vezes respectivamente (p<0,05). Não houve significância estatística quando comparados os encaminhamentos. LIMITAÇÕES DO ESTUDO: Análise de um período curto de tempo e da população unicamente catarinense pode não ser representativa para outras populações do país. CONCLUSÕES: Mais estudos devem ser realizados para investigar a perda de seguimento de pacientes com suspeita de melanoma, triados pela teledermatologia, bem como para analisar a discrepância do Extremo Oeste no manejo destes pacientes.	pt_BR
