DCVs causam no organismo.
Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD) were the leading cause of death in 2021 in Brazil and represent 32% of all global deaths. The need for surgical intervention, as an alternative treatment, occurs due to the damage that CVDs cause in the body. The study aimed to describe the nurse’s role in postoperative complications of cardiac surgeries. This is an integrative literature review with a qualitative approach, with articles published between the years 2012 and 2022, written in Portuguese and English languages. Primary studies on the role of the nurse in postoperative complications in cardiac surgeries were included, as well as articles with full text available in the databases. After crossing the descriptors, 11 scientific articles were selected. The results revealed a varied incidence of actions that represent interventions that directly impact the care provided to the client
