The rate of Alzheimer's in the elderly population is increasing and even today those affected by the disease still have no cure, despite advances in improving their quality of life and slowing down the progression of the disease. The aim of this review is to present studies that analyze the means of diagnosing, caring for and treating patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. This work concludes with an analysis of the studies carried out by the scientific community and concludes that there is much to be discovered and learned, demonstrating that, even if confirmation of the diagnosis occurs only after the patient's death, currently, due to technological progress, there is a significant increase in concluding that the patient has Alzheimer's while he is still alive and thus, the earlier they are diagnosed, the greater their time and quality of life will be. In this way, we are sure that great progress has been made, but there is still a lot to be explored, understood and improved.
