mamografia, ultrassonografia, inteligência artificial, tomossíntese e a
Breast cancer is a worldwide disease. In Brazil, its mortality rate is considerably high, reaching 17,825 thousand per year in women alone. It has been proven that when diagnosed in advance and properly treated, its prognosis is relatively effective, with an estimated 95% cure rate. The Ministry of Health recommends that, for the screening of breast cancer, it is extremely important that women and men perform weekly self-examinations and yearly radiological examinations. Technological advances and diagnostic methods such as mammography, ultrasound, artificial intelligence, tomosynthesis and magnetic resonance, contribute significantly to the early detection of the disease, cooperate for the differentiation of nodules and solid or cystic characterization. The image obtained allows the visualization of microcalcifications, which can show the appearance of breast neoplasms. The aim of this study is to emphasize the importance of imaging exams for the early screening of breast cancer, their influence in determining the diagnosis and in the guidelines for the cure. The methodology used to carry out this work was based on scientific articles from academic websites, from the years 2004 to 2022; on platforms such as SCIELO, PUBMED, Brazilian Journal of Medicine, American Cancer Society, American College of Radiology and the Ministry of Health through the INCA portal.
