The present work presents a bibliographical survey based on scientific articles, medical guidelines and specialized magazines, on insulin resistance in obese individuals in Brazil, that is, as an emerging condition highlighting two implications in the development of metabolic syndrome. Therefore, insulin resistance, described as the main link between obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus, is a condition in which target peripheral tissues, such as skeletal muscle, liver and adipose tissue, have a subnormal response to insulin levels. of circulating insulin, resulting in less physiological effect. The main objective of this study is to develop informative videos to disseminate knowledge about insulin resistance, with audiovisual content developed that ranges from what IR is to prevention and treatment strategies. The accessible and informative approach of the videos stands out, with the Youtube® platform for dissemination, aimed at increasing public awareness about insulin resistance.
