A terapia
Segundo a teoria boweniana, o indivíduo
The thought that is proposed in this essay is focused at the understanding of how a person distinguishes on his/her family’s environment and how Bowen’s can help at the self differentiation. To reach this goal it was carried out a bibliographic research extracting some relevant topics of Bowen’s theory. The differentiation, according to Bowen, is a human’s ability to answer instead of reacting in some situations. Considering that people don’t react the same way, even if they come from the same family, it means some people will be able to differentiate while others won’t. The self differentiation is a goal attain, according to Bowen’s theory, because it means reaching an identity and maturation for an individual. The differentiated individual is certain about where he wants to get, he/she knows how to live on a community, respects different opinions, acts in an independent way and helps others to avoid reactivity. People and family, with elevated levels of differentiation, are more capable of resisting to social destructive influences. Bowen’s therapy proved itself to be efficient at the self differentiation process, because it helps people being able to resist to his/her emotional impulses, dealing with emotions, don’t make triangulations and charge him/herself for his/hers acts. According to bowenian theory, the individual that looks for therapy has more possibilities of getting better focus on his/hers self, decreasing his/hers reactivity and modify disfunctional patterns, becoming like that an individual with less possibilities of gettin psicholagically sick.
