| dc.description.abstract | In this work, it is presented an overview of the villain role in the Brazilian cinema. We search the social aspects of the representations of the crook of Candido (1970) and of the criminal of Rocha (2004), as well as an analysis of the Brazilian rites and rituals that contextualize the experience of these two characters. The research has as objective to contribute for the discussion on the representation of the villain role in the Brazilian cinema, focusing the Amarelo Manga movie, and to verify which are the implications of this representation. The research demonstrates how the villain role is modifying, in compass with the transformations that the Brazilian society has been passing, in the last decades until the current moment. For this, a bibliographical research was done in which it was worked with the notion of crook, of Antonio Candido, and criminal, of João Cezar Castro Rocha. These authors had given support to the discussion on the fictional villain, considering its theoretical basis on the representation of the evil in the Brazilian cinema. From this theoretical survey, it was done an analysis of /Amarelo Manga/ movie from the director Claudio Assis, in which they described scenes of the film and characteristics of the characters, in search of a possible correspondence between the theoretical concepts that characterize the crook and the criminal roles and the represented context. It was perceived that the structure of the plot complicates the characters classification in the meanings of “crook” and “criminal”, especially because the movie does not present a clear division between the worlds of the order and clutter, in the direction given by Roberto Da Matta. | dc.description.abstract | Neste trabalho, é apresentada uma panorâmica da figura do bandido no cinema brasileiro. Buscou-se, através de pesquisa teórica, investigar os aspectos sociais das representações do malandro de Candido (1970) e do marginal de Rocha (2004); bem como conhecer os ritos e rituais brasileiros que contextualizam a vivência desses dois personagens. A pesquisa teve como objetivo contribuir para a discussão sobre a representação da figura do bandido no cinema brasileiro, em especial no filme Amarelo Manga, e verificar quais as implicações dessa representação. A pesquisa demonstra que a figura do bandido está se modificando, em compasso com as transformações pelas quais têm passado a sociedade brasileira, das últimas décadas até o momento atual. Candido e Rocha dão suporte à discussão sobre o bandido ficcional, considerando seus pressupostos teóricos sobre a representação do mal no cinema brasileiro. A partir desse levantamento teórico, fez-se uma análise do longa-metragem Amarelo Manga, do diretor Cláudio Assis (2003), na qual são descritas cenas do filme e características dos personagens, em busca de uma possível correspondência entre os conceitos teóricos que caracterizam as figuras do malandro e do marginal e o contexto representado. Percebeu-se que a estruturação do enredo complica uma classificação dos personagens dentro das noções de “malandro” e de “marginal”, especialmente porque o filme não apresenta uma divisão tradicional entre os mundos da ordem e desordem, no sentido que lhes dá DaMatta (1990). No enredo, não há mocinhos e bandidos.
