| dc.description.abstract | A luta feminina no Brasil por direitos civis e políticos – embora fosse realidade desde os tempos do império, ganhou forças a partir do início do século XX. O movimento sufragista presente na Europa e nos Estados Unidos da América alcançaram terras brasileiras, onde muitas mulheres e outros grupos excluídos se uniram com um único propósito: ter seus direitos de cidadania reconhecidos, a começar pelo direito ao voto. Diante disso, esse estudo buscou por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica exploratória apresentar o processo de evolução da participação feminina no contingente político brasileiro no decorrer das últimas décadas. A pesquisa evidenciou que, até 1932, o movimento feminino ou as sufragistas brasileiras validaram alianças, trabalharam articulações e eclodiram manifestações para que elas pudessem também exercer o direito do voto. Com a promulgação da Constituição de 1934 as mulheres – embora com algumas exclusões – passaram a ter o direito à cidadania assegurado pela constituição brasileira, o que abriu precedentes para outras conquistas como: direito ao trabalho, direito à educação e também, direito a se candidatar a cargos públicos eletivos chegando a eleger a primeira deputada do país em 1933 e décadas depois, elegendo uma mulher como presidenta da República no ano de 2010. É fato que a análise dos números de mulheres na política brasileira – especialmente das negras – ainda deixa muito a desejar e implica que muitas batalhas ainda terão que ser travadas ao longo dos próximos anos para que as mulheres – brancas, pardas ou negras – ocupem o espaço que lhes garantam proporcional representatividade. Todavia, é inegável que as mulheres brasileiras evoluíram e muito no contexto político nacional ao longo das últimas décadas. | pt |
| dc.description.abstract | The female struggle in Brazil for civil and political rights – although it was a reality since the times of the empire, it gained strength from the beginning of the 20th century. The suffrage movement present in Europe and the United States of America reached Brazilian lands, where many women and other excluded groups came together with a single purpose: to have their citizenship rights recognized, starting with the right to vote. In view of this, this study sought, through exploratory bibliographical research, to present the process of evolution of female participation in the Brazilian political contingent over the last decades. The research showed that, until 1932, the women's movement or Brazilian suffragists validated alliances, worked on articulations and demonstrated demonstrations so that they could also exercise their right to vote. With the promulgation of the 1934 Constitution, women – although with some exclusions – began to have the right to citizenship guaranteed by the Brazilian constitution, which set precedents for other achievements such as: the right to work, the right to education and also the right to run for office. to elective public positions, electing the country's first female deputy in 1933 and decades later, electing a woman as president of the Republic in 2010. It is a fact that the analysis of the numbers of women in Brazilian politics – especially black women – still leaves a lot to be desired and implies that many battles will still have to be fought over the next few years so that women – white, brown or black – occupy the space that guarantees them proportional representation.
