Introdução: O estudo tem como objetivo identificar sintomas depressivos e a qualidade de vida nos idosos institucionalizados. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa
baseada em artigos, que destacam os sintomas depressivos e a qualidade de vida dos idosos institucionalizados. Método: Foram utilizadas as bases de dados BVS,
SCIELO, BDENF, LILACS, onde foram selecionados artigos de língua portuguesa dos últimos cinco anos, compreendidos de 2018 a 2023. Resultados: Dos 409
artigos inicialmente selecionados, foram incluídos 9 artigos originais que atenderam os critérios de inclusão. Conclusão: Conclui-se que idosas com idade 70, 80 anos
de idade, tendem a ter maior chance de desencadear os sintomas . Notou-se que a rede de apoio, o convívio social e o suporte de saúde são primordiais para a
qualidade de vida desses idosos.

This is an integrative review based on articles, which highlight depressive symptoms and quality of life of institutionalized elderly people. Methodology: The databases BVS, SCIELO, BDENF, LILACS were used, where Portuguese-language articles from the last five years were selected, from 2018 to 2023. Results: Of the 409 articles initially selected, 9 original articles that met the inclusion criteria were included. Conclusion: It is concluded that elderly women aged 70, 80 years of age tend to have a greater chance of triggering symptoms. It was noted that the support network, social interaction and health support are essential for the quality of life of these elderly people.
