Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Perfil nutricional de pacientes com diabetes mellitus gestacional de uma maternidade pública da cidade de Florianópolis-SC(2017) Savaris, CarlaOBJECTIVE: To evaluate the nutritional profile of pregnant women diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) attended at a Public Maternity Hospital in the City of Florianópolis-SC METHODS: A cross-sectional, observational study with a quantitative approach performed with 35 diabetic pregnant women hospitalized in an obstetric referral maternity hospital in October 2017. Clinical, sociodemographic, insulin therapy, fasting and prandial glycemia data were collected through a self-administered form for consultation in the medical record. The anthropometric data were collected by the researcher and the pre-gestational and gestational Body Mass Index (BMI) was used to classify the nutritional status and the gestational weight gain was evaluated in the following categories: absence or loss of gain weight or adequate or excessive weight gain. The quantitative variables were presented in means and standard deviations and for the categorical variables the absolute and relative frequencies were presented. RESULTS: The participants were 35 years old (± 5.97), mean gestational age was 30 weeks; the majority started overweight (37.14%, n = 13) or obesity (45.71%, n = 16). In addition, during pregnancy 54.28% (n = 19) presented obesity and 80% (n = 28) gained weight above the recommended one. There was a significant association between per capita income and insulin use (p = 0,027), and between the classification of BMI prior to gestation and the current one (p = 0,001). CONCLUSION: It was observed that women with lower income used greater use of insulin therapy and those who obtained higher income used less insulin and patients who presented a pre-gestational BMI classification of overweight / obesity remained with inadequate nutritional profile during gestation.
