Monografia Acesso fechado Aspectos epidemiológicos dos acidentes com aranhas no estado de Santa Catarina, Brasil, entre 2015 e 2019(2020) Bernardo Júnior, Lorival JoaquimAccidents with venomous animals are considered a public health problem in Brazil, and spiders are responsible for many cases, mainly in the southern region of the country. The objective of this study was to analyze the epidemiological aspects of araneism Santa Catarina state and associated factors, between 2015 and 2019. It is an ecological, epidemiological, cross-sectional and descriptive study, with quantitative analysis. The data were obtained from the banks of the National Disease Notification System (SINAN), by the TABNET of DIVE - abbreviation for the Directorate of Epidemiological Surveillance of the State of Santa Catarina, tabulated and analyzed using the SPSS 20.0 program, with statistical and temporal analysis of the occurrences. There were 29,209 accidents recorded over the period of time analyzed. The average annual incidence rate was 83.5 accidents / 100,000 inhabitants. It was observed that the cases are concentrated in the North and West regions of Santa Catarina and in urban areas (55.1%). There is a partially homogeneous distribution of accidents between sexes and age groups, with a slight female predominance, and occurring in the age group of 20 to 39 years, with an increase over the analyzed. The incidence of accidents with species of the genus Phoneutria was higher for males, and with the genus Loxosceles, for females. The most affected occupations were farm workers, housewives and retirees. When the spider genus was identified, the majority of accidents occurred with Loxosceles (31.9%), followed by Phoneutria (15.2%) and Latrodectus (0.1%). Ignored, blank or caused by another spider cases account for 52.6% of the notifications and there is a large number of cases of mild classification (87.3%). The places most affected by spider bites are feet, hands and legs. The lethality rate was low (average of 0.03%), with a higher incidence of death in individuals up to 19 years old. The seasonal variation shows the influence of climatic pattern among the different regions of the state, with a predominance of accidents in the warmer months, attributing the higher frequency of cases to the increase in temperature and to the reproduction period of the species. Many aspects could be analyzed, but there is still a need for further and complementary studies to better approach and understand the factors involved.
