Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Associação de ativos despigmentantes no tratamento de melasma em consultório e no uso domiciliar(2017) Bitencourt, Mayara Batista; Gonçalves, Chayenne RosaMelasma is a common cutaneous hyperpigmentation that affects both sexes and all races, is predominant in intermediate phototypes and in individuals living in tropical areas. There are several factors of the etiology of the spot, among the most common are: genetic influences, sun exposure, gestation, hormonal therapies, cosmetics, emotional factors and the like. Due to the recurrence of the lesions and the improbability of definitive bleaching, in turn, the treatment becomes unsatisfactory.Known treatments are based on the use of depigmenting cosmetics which inhibit the action of tyrosinase and minimize the production of melanin. The current research is characterized by a comparative experimental clinical trial of quantitative analysis, aiming at analyzing the results of the association of depigmenting assets in the treatment of melasma in the office and in the home use.Eleven women were selected as the sample and divided into 2 groups, the control group received the application of the whitening kit in the office and the test group the application of the whitening kit in the office and depigmenting cream for home use. The results were analyzed using Student's t-test using Excel software. When comparing the groups, it is possible to observe a reduction of the MASI scale in which the test group presented significant improvement of the results after the treatment. Both groups showed some improvement in the MelasQol quality of life questionnaire. The test group also showed a predominance of a high whitening result by external evaluators, showing that the use of cosmetic at home enhances the results of melasma treatment.
