Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Excesso de peso em adolescentes de uma escola da rede pública de Tubarão - SC(2019) Santos, Guilherme Oliveira dosOverweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that pose a health risk. Having as main objective to evaluate the nutritional status of overweight and obesity in adolescents from a public school in Tubarão-SC based on the students' body mass index. The sample consisted of 161 students, 94 female and 67 male, aged 12 to 18 years. The main research instrument was the BMI which evaluates the student's body mass index. Nutritional status will be analyzed by BMI / age Z-score (WHO curves) according to gender. To measure weight a digital scale up to 150kg non-slip Britannia will be used, and to measure height a precision tape measure will be used of cm. The results show that 68% of students are of normal weight, 5% thinness, 19% overweight and 8% obesity. At this stage of adolescent life, being overweight can lead to socialization difficulties, as well as risk of morbidity for the main chronic diseases. The awareness of obesity for young people and adolescents is in the process of seeking personal identification and affirmation, in which the construction of self-image and self-esteem play a very important role. When comparing BMI measurements of female and male students, there is little difference in results.Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Percepção da aptidão física e atividade física de escolares e praticantes de futsal(2020) Becker, Pedro Nuncio; Costa, Saulo AlbinoThis study aims to verify the perception of physical fitness and physical activity among male adolescents aged 11 to 13 years old who practice school physical education and those who used to practice extracurricular futsal regularly before the pandemic COVID-19. The research is characterized by a descriptive and comparative level, with a quantitative and cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 20 students of the School of Basic Education Dr. Miguel de Patta, with 10 students attending the City Sports Commission (G1) and 10 who perform Physical Education curriculum and daily activities (G2). The assessment of the students' perception of physical fitness and physical activity was determined through an online and face-to-face questionnaire. After collecting the results of all the participants, a descriptive analysis was performed to determine the adolescents' perception and a comparative inferential analysis to make the comparison between the two groups. The results showed no significant difference between both groups as compared to the usual physical activity. It is believed that these results may be due to the recommended isolation measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic as classes are being done online and training is suspended. G1 still presented better results than G2, but very close. It is important to emphasize that the practice of a modality such as Futsal, provides an improvement in the adolescent's quality of life.
